What's on your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?

Morning Everyone! I am back from an absolutely perfect 24 hours away on the Cape. I had such a great time! Here are some pictures of the salt marshes that are in the backyard of where we stayed. It was gorgeous.
Accountability: I had 1/2 of a kiddie cup of Hazelnut Gelato and a bunch of potato chips. As Dorothy said--not in Ketosis anymore. whoops. But I lost a pound this morning?!?!?! Whatever, body.
QOTD: Do you like spicy food? What is the spiciest thing you have ever eaten? I really enjoy eating spicy things. I don't mind the feeling of my lips tingling if the flavor is really intense and great! When I was a kid I went to one of my dad's Peace Corps reunions and they made us an Ethiopian dish that made me cry from the intensity of the heat. Ahhh! Meanwhile, Grim gets tears in his eyes if there is a little black pepper on something, lol.
Exercise: I ran about a half mile for the first time yesterday just to test it out, and my foot feels okay! Back to the gym today and will run for as long as it feels okay.
EDITED TO ADD: As long as my foot holds up, I am going to try to finish August up with a 50 mile challenge. It's not a lot, but there are 25 more days in the month, so running 2 miles a day will get me there! If I miss a day, I will have to make it up somewhere else in the month. Anyone else want to join me?
hi all
well, I had to haul * after work to get to the truck part place for an air filter for the motorcoach, thank goodness I made it as they closed at 5.
remote today and have several calls which start here in a minute. I'm also out of Splenda and only have chocolate raspberry stevia so today should be interesting.
accountability. there were many things and I need to get better back on track for me which means to stop or limit nighttime eating...
QOTD: prior to surgery I could not do too spicy/pickled things but now I LOVE them!!! so yummy!!!
may join you on the running but have to decide.
Mornin' All!
I may skip my short story class this morning (last one of the summer, though - boo!) to finish up this document for my civic organization just to get it OUT OF MY HAIR! Mah Jongg this afternoon. Out with a friend tonight. Busy day. And it looks like it could be a rainy one, too. Hopefully it'll usher in some dryer weather - this humidity is killing me!
accountability was great yesterday - weight is down again this morning. YAY!
QOTD: I've always liked spicy food. I had to tone it down during the first few months after surgery because my sense of taste got more intense for awhile (not sure if it went back down or if I just got used to it after awhile), but I can eat spicy things again. Not sure what was the spiciest thing I've ever eaten, though. Probably some southeast Asian dish (??). I can tolerate quite a bit of "heat".
4 years 2 months out:
B: DH and I are going over to Einstein's this morning since he gets $2 off a bagel and I get a free egg sandwich this month (for my birthday). They have a couple of lower calorie ones (c. 400 kcal), so I'll get one of those and eat lightly the rest of the day
MS: nothing. That egg sandwich should keep me going until lunch time
L: probably something like cottage cheese
AS: protein shake
D: pulled pork and grilled zucchini. Or a salad with light dressing and deli turkey.
have a great day, everyone!!
Good morning JB and menu folks. Half a day for me today and then off to Indiana, we are stopping for the night in Buffalo Ny, and then will finish the way to Indiana tomorrow. We are going to see the Montreal Impact play the Chicago Fire soccer club on Saturday, We have never been to Chicago other than Ohare, so we are looking forward to what little we shall see. My son is supposed to meet his favorite player and the player is supposed to give him his jersey after the game, we shall see if this happens.
Accountability - It was Pizza night at Planet fitness, so i had a half slice....what a horrible decision on my part. Work out and then eat a slice of pizza and I felt like **** all evening...
QOTD - I am not a spicy food guy and I am with Grim, I do not even like black pepper.
B - quest bar
S - salami and cheese roll
L - michigan hot dog
S - cukes and celery
D - eggplant parm with broccoli and sauce...
Stay healthy my friends, I will catch up to you all next week upon my return.

I love Buffalo! If someone kicked me out of Pittsburgh I always said I'd move to Buffalo. I even like to chant "Let's go Buffalo" while at sporting events it got a great ring to it.

Good Morning! Your pictures look so inviting. Perfect.
I co-taught my class last night. It went til 9PM. I was pretty much stumbling on my words by then.
I just got back from the gym. It was a good strong workout even though I got up at 5:30 to do it. And without caffeine.
My lack of morning coffee for months has been sad. It kills me. I am trying instant espresso/Cafe Bustelo this morning- somehow it works when I cannot do brewed. I also need a vehicle for my miralax- the only way I can tolerate it.
QOTD: I like spice but not to make you cry levels. Spiciest food I ever ate was some Indian food- cannot tell you what it was.
- Eggwhites and spinach, toast
- chicken schwarma and curry veggies
- shrimp, salad
- S: Greek yogurt, cantaloupe, protein
ex: gym day- done!

Do you prefer morning workouts? I am not a morning person, for exercise anyway..LOL. I have been thinking about changing my routine, my gym is a half hour drive from my house, I get home 7 pm or later 4 nights a week, so thinking I might try the early am.

I absolutely do not prefer morning workouts. Yes there is the - get it out of the way... My favorite is the afternoon, or 4-6PM on weekends, Gym empty, I got time and I get in the sauna in the end.
I have done night time workouts but the quality of the workout suffers...
I basically roll out of bed and go. At minimum I do 1/2 protein drink before and 1/2 after. Sometimes Add a piece of banana before, and I make these oatmeal pumpkin muffins that I throw some protein powder in and have that right after too. I always have an emergency bar in my bag... with my low BS issues sometimes workouts can make it dip.
