Mornin'!

Pedicure later this morning, then lunch with two friends - all three of us have birthdays between July 31 and Aug 7, so we're celebrating! I may go for a walk, too, before it gets too hot outside. Other than that....???? I'd like to do something with MIL, but she seems to be requiring a lot of downtime lately. I think she's still exhausted by the move and all the stress of house selling, etc, from the last few weeks - but I do think it would be good for her to get out for awhile!!

4 years 1 month out:

B: protein pancakes topped with plain Greek yogurt, 1/2 mango, and SF syrup, coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake

L: out to lunch - they have fish tacos and pork tacos on the menu, so either/or

AS: if needed, L&F yogurt

D: salad and the rest of the shredded beef, maybe grilled zucchini or corn on the cob

ex: something!

the couch for my new porch arrived yesterday - and I love it! Pillows are end-of-the-season bargains from Pier 1 (all the "outdoor" variety, so supposedly they won't fade - and neither will the couch!)

Trish - have you run into the crowds for the Crossfit games Madison? I know some people who went up to watch.

I heard there were going to be a bunch of athletes in town this weekend, but I didn't realize it was Crossfit. And I bet there will be a lot of traffic - so thanks for the warning! In addition, there's some state swim meet at the pool that's across the street from my gym, so they canceled classes at the gym this weekend because people are going to have a really hard time finding parking (the gym will still be open for non-class use, though - although they warned us we may have a hard time finding a parking space, since they're allowing the swim meeting people to park there - plus there will be cars parked all up and down the street to boot). Ugh. At least I know what to steer clear of this weekend!!

On the bright side I have heard that it is an extremely attractive spectator base.

Think tacos!!

Happy that it's Friday and I'm working from home. Still hard to get out of bed! Tomorrow will start with early errands, and hoping to workout with a couple who may be new clients. They have a wonderful Golden Doodle who would make it even more fun! Sunday we have brunch with friends. It'll be nice to catch up.

Today I have a lunchtime workout with my trainer and then back home for more work including OT.

Weight is slowly coming back down. I am trying to keep it below 120 now and I had gotten up to 121.8. Back down to 121. My lowest weight was 116 and I've spent most of maintenance around 117-118. I have definitely added more muscle since I started lifting a year ago and especially since lifting heavy beginning in March. I don't want that to be an excuse for letting my weight go up drastically though. I probably won't have another DEXA until October so I can't be sure how the percentages are changing. Just trying to keep it all balanced.

Menu:

B: coffee x2 w/ Miralax, TJ's ham, 1 blueberry Eggo waffle

S: Carbmaster yogurt

L: deli roast beef, baby carrots

S: Lactaid cottage cheese / blueberries & slivered almonds

D: salad from Whole Foods w/ chicken

E: hour in the gym

PS: does anyone make protein popsicles? Most of the recipes that I've seen include bananas and/or avocados and I don't eat either of those. I also don't like Premiere Protein so those frozen aren't good. Recipes?

Ha! If it starts raining tacos, I am just going to abandon all hopes of weight loss :)

I never tried making protein popsicles, but I did make some good frozen protein bites out of yogurt, on my first summer post op. I don't remember what recipe I used but I know I did one that had peanut butter and it was a super delicious treat!

I've made frozen pudding/ice cream pops which you could add protein powder to...

I use a box of sf pudding mix, add 1 C cold milk to dissolve and 2C heavy whipping cream...whip til it becomes thick and stiff peaks form, then I've added flavor extracts like mint, caramel or coffee...spoon or pipe into popsicle containers and freeze. they're super rich and creamy because of the heavy cream and this makes a TON so make sure you have a lot of popsicle holders.

it's actually the recipe I found for cake frosting which is incredible as well (not frozen obviously lol) so it makes enough to frost an entire cake. I had so much leftover I froze it and it was really good! I have small popsicle containers from when story was a toddler so they were kind of a perfect size/portion.
