Glad the RICE is helping your ankle. Are you reading anything good? I just finished The Wanderers by Chuck Wendig and would recommend!
I am grumpy this morning! Not hangry just grumpy, thunder and lightening on both ends of my flight meant 2+ hour delays so I got home after midnight and a bumpy commute! Also, I seem to have gained 3.5 lbs eating the same diet I eat every day but doing it in a different office/hotel room so also a factor in the cranky. Can I blame the Bluberry cottage cheese? I know I was closer to the 80z than my 100+ oz each day this week so today I?ll see if a couple high fluid days help.
b - carb master cottage cheese
l - 4 oz ever roast deli chicken and 1 oz cheese
d - same
s - L&F Greek
edited to add QOTd - my dad told me that if you changed the gears on his semi with out depressing the clutch (as in knocked it out of gear while sleeping in the cab), the engine would explode. I shared that tidbit with a group of friends when I was in my 20s. They still laugh at me. He told me that if you went outside at night at his parents, the alligators that come surround the house at night would eat you...his dad didn't understand why I wouldn't even go on the porch after dark. Just a few of many stories -- on the flip side, I believe NO ONE now and I make up my own stories but I do tell people after they react if they are not true.
have a terrific Thursday all

Mornin' All!
I went to the travel clinic yesterday re: my upcoming trip to India. The nurse prescribed the oral typhoid vaccine. After I picked it up at Walgreens, I read the info that came with it. Crap. It has to dissolve in the small intestine. I did mention to her that I was a bypass patient - and I also noted that on the health info sheet I had to fill out beforehand. I'm not sure that capsule is going to be able to pass through my stoma, and also, I don't know where in the small intestine this thing is supposed to dissolve and be absorbed. There IS an injectable typhoid vaccine - but I'm sure Walgreens is not going to take that oral vaccine back, and I'm not sure my insurance is going to cover the injectable since they already covered an oral vaccine one day earlier. Plus there's another office visit (if I go in for the vaccine) - not sure if they'll cover that, either. I emailed her last night to explain the situation. Hopefully she'll be able to get info for me on where it's absorbed. Crap crap crap. I'll see how much it's going to cost me if I have to go back for the injectable. If it's a lot, I'll either have to fork it over or hope that I absorb enough from this capsule to give me some protection (I've read neither vaccine protects you 100%, though). Although the tour guide, who is also a nurse, told us awhile ago that our risk for typhoid is pretty minimal given our itinerary, activities, and the hotels where we'll be staying. Given that, I don't know if everyone on the trip will opt for the vaccine. Anyway, I'll wait to hear what the travel clinic says before figuring out what to do.
later this morning I have a DEXA scan at the doctor's office (they just test for bone density - not body composition, unfortunately). Then I have to wait around my house for my porch sofa to be delivered - YAY!!
accountability was great yesterday - I'll shoot for that again today!
4 years 1 month out (is it really August already? Sheesh!!):
B: protein pancakes topped with plain Greek yogurt, diced (1/2) mango, and SF syrup, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: turkey slices on a Flat Out Fold It
AS: L&F yogurt and/or raw veggies with ranch Greek yogurt
D: leftover shredded beef - maybe corn on the cob if I can afford the calories
have a great day, all!!!

I did the two shot series for the typhoid before Morocco at the travel doc office, I think it was 30 a shot and my insurance didn't cover it. Travel doc seems to charge less than actual doc at least around here.

oh good - she told me yesterday that it was around $40, but I didn't know if she meant the co-pay or the full price. If it was just co-pay, then the full price would have been really high (and I doubt insurance would cover since they covered the oral one just yesterday), but if that's the full price, I can handle that!!
and yes - I think travel docs are a *****eaper because a lot of insurance doesn't cover it. I think they jack the prices up for insurance companies knowing that the insurance company has these "allowed amounts" that are often quite a bit lower than whatever the procedure cost.
