Mornin' All!
sorry about your ankle, JB. Do you think you might have broken it? Although bad sprains can be just as painful (I've had both!!). Keep it up and iced as much as possible!!
they finished painting our porch yesterday - railing goes on today. The couch is being delivered tomorrow (may have to store it in the garage for a few days - they still have to finish up the electrical work and do a professional cleaning - not sure what else, but that's probably it). Almost there!!
I'm going to go to a gentle yoga class this morning - then to a presentation at one of the senior centers. This afternoon I have an appt at the travel clinic re: my upcoming trip to India. I think the only vaccination I'll need is the typhoid one. I'll eventually need a flu shot, too - but I won't get that until a couple of weeks before I leave. It's too early - plus it may not even be available yet. After that, I have to go to my MIL's. Her computer has a trojan virus. Ugh. At least I have my late father's computer in my basement. We can set that up for her to use if it takes me awhile to figure out how to "fix" hers.
QOTD: all mine have to do with genealogy. I have a few brick walls I'd like to break through. Someday...
4 years 1 month out:
B: protein pancakes topped with 1/3 C plain Greek yogurt and some kind of homemade fruit compote (I have three options...), coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: I'm thinking cottage cheese
AS: light yogurt and/or raw veggies with ranch Greek yogurt
D: I'll pick up some deli turkey slices today - so that plus vegetables
have a great day, everyone!
Good morning, everybody!
It's hump day already. I found out yesterday that my boss had to cancel moderating a discussion tomorrow which will have approximately 1200 listeners and that he needs me to sub for him. So a good part of today will be spent familiarizing myself with the materials in the presentation. Fortunately, its a call and not an in-person meeting, so I don't need to go anywhere to do it.
If you remember me whining about Taste of Chicago, Amber pointed out that Lollapalooza is every bit as much of a traffic disaster as the "Taste". Well, its Lollapalooza now and traffic is a debacle. I actually like Lollapalooza as a concept (3 day music festival at Grant Park) and if I were age appropriate would probably go myself, but it does make traveling around the city a nightmare. I am sure there will be men in tank tops as well, but at least they will skew younger that the junk food festival.
So i saw girls wearing the Fila sneakers with the really chunky, thick soles for the first time Monday. I don't think that I am a fan. I prefer DaisyDoo's footwear choices any day. I guess that at a certain age, almost anything that one wears looks good.
QOTD: Jen had such a great answer! I will skip the easy religious ones and say aliens. When we were kids, everybody was excited about aliens and there were TV shows about unsolved mysteries, Beyond and Back, etc. Now, it seems like stories about aliens are becoming commonplace to the point where there are alien sighting hotlines for military aviators, and nobody seems particularly interested in it.
Breakfast: leftover barbacoa
Snack: Protein bar
Lunch: Ahi tuna salad
Snack: meat Stix
Dinner TBD
Have a great day, all!
