What's on your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
Good morning everyone! So I just got back from my 6 month f/u appointment. They were very happy with my progress and said I'm doing great. Said all my labs looked good and they weren't concerned about my iron being a bit low so I don't have to take an extra iron vitamin. The only thing that was recommended to me was to incorporate weights into my exercise routine to help with osteoporosis. So I guess I'll be getting some. The doctor also discussed skin removal surgery with me even though it's early yet....said they like to start discussing early for insurance coverage and such. She asked if I was having any issues with loose skin, but I honestly haven't even noticed any. Perhaps down the road once I lose more weight I'll start encountering issues, but for now I don't even notice the loose skin if I even have any.
QOTD: hmmm...I can't really think of any at the moment. This isn't a made up game, but I remember as a kid always playing "I spy" with my mom and brother. Always loved that game and I remember having so much fun. They'd always get so mad at me because I was very competitive and would pick something barely noticeable that you could hardly see.
B: premier shake
B2: coffee w/Splenda
L: roast beef and cheese roll ups
S: laughing cow cheese dippers
D: leftover baked salmon with mixed veggies
S: some watermelon if hungry

Morning and happy tuesday. Well, I went to Happy Hour last night and had 6 french fries followed by a blood sugar crash. I apparently am the dense-ist person in California and it takes a super lot for me to learn my lessons. I've come to the realization that I can't eat anything like that . . . ever, if I want to keep my blood sugar stable. I don't need to eat the crap, so it's ok. Anyway, that threw the rest of my night off, so there was unplanned cracker and nut butter. Today is another day
QOTD: Hmmm, good question. Not that I can think of off hand.
My plan:
B: sliced turkey (3.1 oz); string cheese
L: Ground turkey, cauli risotto and mozzarella
D: Chicken thigh meat
S: Homemade latte and likely cottage cheese and blueberries before the gym. Not gonna lie, since it's hot spin I'll either have a small green apple or a tangerine on my drive home

Ugh that's so terrible. So similar to my life with the lapband. I knew what would make me vomit, but I still ate those things over and over.
It feels like such betrayal when the surgery that is supposed to improve your health makes it worse. Sending hugs!

hey everyone.
I am late again, and I didn't make it here yesterday because work was super busy.
I already ate a bagel this morning so my carbs are way over but I knew what I was doing when I did it. I have been doing great for the last week or so without anything off plan but I really wanted a bagel this morning.
I adjusted the rest of my menu to accommodate for calories but I do notice whenever I eat anything high in empty carbs like that I end up feeling weird and shaky for a few hours after- and I got a headache, so YAY bagels.
QOTD: I am sure we have made up plenty of games but I can't think of any right now.
We did just learn that the Amazon echo has a ton of games to play if you just say "Alexa, let's play a game"...we have played a bunch of trivia and they have a lot of music games-like name that tune/artist/song, etc. it's awesome! if you have one you should try it out. its especially fun if you have a group of people together.
B: dunkin Iced coffee w/cream & splenda and a sesame bagel w/veggie cream cheese
then more coffee w/sf coffeemate
L: turkey italian sausage, kale and sweet potatoes
S: robert irvine fit crunch protein bar
D: bratwurst & green beans
ES: string cheese & turkey meat stick

Question, I know you've mentioned buying glasses online. Can you let me know the best sites? Must be able to do bifocals...
HW: 248+, SW (RNY: 2/28/17): 244, GW (10/17): 125; LW: 115; 45# regain (19-20); CW: 135.6; new goal: 135; Plastics: Ext mastopexy, Ext abdominoplasty-5/18/2018; diagnosed w/ gastroparesis 11/20.
I get mine at eyebuy direct. You upload a pic of yourself and it's easy to try them on. I have progressive lenses and they are always under $150 also look for codes to get free glass case. You can call if you have questions and there customer service is very good I always call when ordering to make sure I get all the discounts
HW 299 SW 290 CW 139 GW 140 2/08/2019 OPERATION: Surgical Hernia with excision of total surface area of 55 x 29 cm of abdominal skin.
of course!
I get most of mine from Zeelool.com ...I found they had the best prices and also some really fun styles of frames.
They can do bifocals, progressives, transitions, tinted lenses and also offer all the different coatings for glare, scratch resistant, uv protection, etc.
I've also ordered from Zenni and Discountglasses which are also both great. With Zeelool they didn't make me send in an actual prescription but I did need to know the exact numbers and my Pupilary distance, so make sure you either get that recorded by your optometrist at your vision exam or you can find instructions online on how to measure yourself.
All of the websites offer the photo upload option so you can do the "virtual try-on" to see if you like them on your face...but pay attention to the actual measurements of the frames too..I took a pair of my old ones that I liked the fit and measured the nose bridge and the width so I could get an idea of the size/shape of them and compared to the measurements on the website.
depending on the time of year you can usually get them within 2-3 weeks but it does take some time for shipping.
Hope that helps!
