What's on your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
on 7/25/19 9:57 am
If you have more veggies than you know what to do with, reach out to your local food bank! I know lots of them have programs where they'll take fruits and veggies from your backyard garden and give them to families in need. My dad used to grow grapes in his backyard and had WAY more than he knew what to do with, so the food bank would give them out and people loved getting fresh produce.

VSG 2013, RNY conversion 2019 due to GERD. Trendweight here!
Morning and Happy Thursday. Today is going to be very busy as I'm playing catch up. A transformer across the street from our office exploded yesterday around 11:30, killing our power. We tried to wait it out, but when it's 107 and 90% humidity, you can't last very long without air. anyway, we usually can remote in, but we had to shut down the server so it make work very very difficult.
This morning didn't start well. I stopped at costco yesterday and bought egg bites. I cut a package off this morning and promptly left it on the counter. It's too hot and I'm too lazy to go get anything, so I'm already scrambling with food. Exercise will be spin of one type or another.
QOTD: Living in LA, Waze is a favorite. I also love MFP and the Washington Post. For games, I'm a fan of Word Stacks and Happy Glass. After reading the responses, I also love Amazon prime music and my SuriusXM app. The app has these "extra" stations that you can only hear through the app. Makes the day go by faster. I stick my Air Pods in, turn on my music and type away
My plan:
B: Given the missing egg bites, I'm at a loss. I can either eat my snack for B (sliced turkey and cheese) or a protein bar
L: Chicken Thigh meat
D: steak
S: if the cottage cheese that was in the fridge is still good, I'll have that with blueberries. If not I'll figure something out. Maybe I'll walk to TJs and get more cottage cheese.
E: either hot spin or regular spin, all depends on when I get out of the office

Good morning! I would take a day in a hammock while reading any day - and now I want a hammock! I am trying not to get to overly strict with my food - meaning that I can't roll -be flexible and good at the same time, but yesterday was a good example of the unknown... My co-worker brought in keto enchiladas for me (they were fantastic!). I ate those instead of my planned lunch and didn't eat much really (but i know it had a billion calories) - AND the scale was up .2 this morning. Looking forward - I have many other unplanned meals like a work luncheon today (I know what will be served, but my lunch menu is still a guess) and a BBQ Saturday then my sons birthday is all starting to stress me out. I can do this, keep it together girl!
QOTD - I am most reliant on my reminders - I don't know what I would do with out that app! Notes too, MFP, Music, watch... then text, email and FB. I got into candy crush years ago and had to quit - it was consuming me!
Accountability - switched out my planned lunch for keto enchiladas w/calories unknown!

Hope all is well! It's been a fun day at work so far. All of our systems are down so we are basically just sitting around twiddling our thumbs. But hey, I'm ok with getting paid to do nothing. Lol
QOTD: Amazon....spend way too much money though!
B: premier shake
B2: coffee w/Splenda
L: turkey cheese and lettuce wraps
S: laughing cow cheese dippers
D: bunless burger
S: fruit or sugar free fudgesicle
Surgery: RNY on 1/23/19
on 7/25/19 9:54 am
Since I'll be the proud owner of a shiny new pouch on Monday, I figure it's darn time to join the RNY menu thread club :-D
Today is going to be pretty busy as I'm wrapping things up before leaving the office for two weeks to recover from surgery. I'm lead on a big new project that just got started after a bunch of delays, so I have to get some stuff scheduled, update paperwork, and that sort of thing. Luckily my team is great and they'll have no trouble but it's been a bit stressful to take care of everything. Then in the evening I'm going to run to Walmart to snag recovery supplies-- broth, crystal light, pudding mix, all that jazz. Eek!
QOTD: My current favorite apps are Audible (re-listening to the Mercy Thompson series right now, one of my favorites!), FitNotes and Google Sheets for gym stuff, and Dr Mario and Marvel Puzzle Quest for my brain-numbing puzzle games.
Chow:
B - sausage patty and scrambled egg
L - tuna poke over greens
D- pork chops and frozen broccoli
S - Greek yogurt, string cheese
Exercise: planning on a trip to the gym tonight to swim laps, as I won't be able to do that for 2 weeks post-op. Lately I've been doing about 1200m in half an hour, but I'd like to swim for longer tonight if I have time.

Yeah, the whole situation just makes me dizzy! I've known for a couple of months that I would be converting my VSG to RNY, but my doctor was out of town and insurance took a long time to approve things. Tuesday morning, they called and said "hey, we've had a cancellation, do you want to have your surgery this coming Monday?"
I'm very glad to be getting it over and done with, especially because it gives me less time to get nervous :)
