My IP is collecting dust in the basement along with 600 other kitchen appliances that I bought thinking I might actually use. Ha. I made a good effort in the first month I had it. There were a few good recipes... But yogurt is such a pain in the ass compared to the extra dollar it costs to just buy it! And of course Grim eats nothing I cook, so the serving sizes were much too big for anything I made... #notapothead

I'm worried mine is gonna collect dust too, but I'm giving it a couple of more tries. I felt the same way about crockpot but now I consider myself the queen of crockpot and love it.

I don't use mine as much as I did at first, but I make yogurt in it at least once a week and always use it when I'm going to make pulled pork or hard-boiled eggs. I make chili in it a lot in the winter, too - I'll use dried beans when I make it in the IP instead of canned because they cook pretty quickly. Dried beans are cheaper and have a better texture than the canned ones, IMHO. Other than that, I don't really use it for much else these days.

Good morning, everybody!

I feel guilty. I woke up early this morning and was reading the newspaper on my IPAD in the family room. My son came downstairs at about 5:15 (late night gaming most likely rather than early morning) and asked me if I knew where the spoon that his Mom uses to measure the coffee was. I told him where I thought it would be and went back to reading my paper. When I came back from the gym at 8:00 I saw that his coffeemaker and coffee were out but unopened. I think that he couldn't find the right spoon so had to give up. It just didn't occur to me that he didn't find the spoon or that he would be unable to improvise in its absence. Male communication, I guess.

Its Fri-yay eve, but doesn't really feel that way to me. For some reason its been a really long week.

QOTD: When my oldest left for England, Marilyn asked her if she would please keep in touch with us while she was away. Her response was "Does social media count?" So, I guess Instagram is my top. After that My Fitness Pal and Wodify.

I've been to one of their games, I remember it being a fun place to watch a game, but cold because we went in early May. August should be perfect. Are you just in town one day?

Hi Jim - Yes, coming in the morning and heading back to Ind after the game. My youngest son is a big soccer fan, he is a content contributor for a Montreal Impact soccer page and it happens that Montreal is in Chicago. Not my first choice, but ...what we wont do for our kids! LOL

Kids sure keep us guessing, about their ability to function without us sometimes.

OMG, Kelly, there is a group called grown and flown. The parents post about their kids fails and it has me in stitches. Kids ready to go to college who don't know where the stamp goes on the envelope, what a book of stamp is, how to address thank you envelopes and the one that really made me laugh: the kid is having his wisdom teeth pulled and the dentist tells him to rinse with sal****er. He asks his mom where can we buy sal****er.

I'm laughing simply because I can see DS in most of these cases.

I can't even imagine! As a side note, Em hates it that I have her to thank you notes.
