Happy birthday.

Sales jobs scare the bejeezus out of me. I am such a failure in making people buy something. Good for you for not being intimidated by him. Don't know why, but I picture him as a sleazy used car salesperson.

I was thinking the same thing! Sleezed used car salesperson. I can't sell anything, either. I can barely GIVE anything away much less sell it!

Belated happy birthday!!

When I was in sales (I'm still in sales but from a different angle, lol) I tried to spend a lot of time listening so I could solve the customers problem, which is not always the same as selling them what they want! I know that's harder in retail but given it sounds like you have a growth opportunity in the store - maybe you have a bit more time with each customer...and once you have that reputation as trusted advisor, it's easier to maintain.

With all your knowledge, I would LOVE to go into a GNC and find someone like you! Since online sales don't count - can you do some small nuitriton sessions, everything you want to know about supplements, what's the difference between the various protein powders and drive some foot traffic that way? Then your natural enthusiasm and passion will help make the sale.

You would be surprised how many bariatric patients come in. I think I can sniff them out because I know the lingo. LOL.

G'morning JB & Menu peeps!

I'm doing a couple of site surveys today for upcoming events so there will be some driving involved. I am so used to telecommute that when I have to drive and actually leave the house I grumble.

People who have been using instant pot for cooking, how do you like it? I finally took the plunge and on amazon prime day ordered one. Had it on the kitchen counter for a couple of days before even opening the box, that shows you how scared I was to use it. Last night I used it for the first time, made a turkey chili and I gotta say I wasn't that impressed. DH & DS liked it but I like the chili in the crockpot better than IP. I've joined a couple of IP groups on FB (they call themselves pot heads) to get more inspiration for recipes. Kelly, do you make your yogurt in the IP?

QOTD: Audible, hoopla, MFP, Nike run, starbucks, email, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, FB. My life is on my phone. I use my phone more than my computer, and access most everything through my phone.

My meals for the day:

  • Coffee, coffee, and more coffee
  • Left over turkey chili
  • Chicken fajitas
  • Yogurt or parm cheese

Happy jr Friday!

I love my instant pot but mostly for meats...
I depend on it for days when I forget to thaw things out and I need to cook something fast when I get home from work, for example last night when I asked DH to set the chicken breasts out to thaw but he forgot too...so I threw the frozen solid suckers into that instant pot and they were fully cooked and ready to shred with all the seasonings and sauce already mixed in within 20 minutes. perfect.
I've made soup in it before too but it's really nothing better than a pot on the stove in my opinion. I just really love the fact that I can make something that would have the all day cooked flavor and tenderness in a fraction of the time.

I do use my IP for yogurt (usually twice a week). I also use it to steam my veggies quick and for our boiled eggs (I got a thing for it to make egg bites but it works great to crack the eggs and "boil"'them).
