What's on your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
Mornin' All!
We spent about five straight hours unpacking and putting away my MIL's things yesterday - round 2 is today. This will probably take us at least another day. It is exhausting. I was really beat yesterday and just wanted to go home and do nothing the rest of the evening! Please remind me of this if I ever say I want to move. I'm going NOWHERE unless it's to the nursing home!
I'm meeting a friend for coffee at 9:00, then back to MIL's apartment. I'll get a walk in before the coffee meet-up - and I hope to make a yoga class either at 4:00 or at 7:00. I want to say I didn't get much exercise in yesterday other than a 30-minute walk early in the morning, but I bet I got a TON of it unpacking those boxes - bending over, reaching up, picking up boxes (some heavy), walking from room to room, dragging boxes full of crap down the hall to her storage room, taking trash and recycling down to the appropriate receptables in the garage, and on my feet almost the whole five hours. I did manage to get in over 12K steps by the end of the day, so yes - exercise. Accountability was good, too -- within my calorie range.
QOTD: I hardly watch any TV, but a few years ago I was absolutely glued to the tube watching Breaking Bad on NetFlix. I wasn't necessarily disappointed in the ending, but the final scene seemed too over-the-top. Not realistic at all. I kind of wish they would have re-thought that.
4 years 1 month out:
B: protein pancakes topped with 1/3 C plain Greek yogurt, diced 1/2 mango, and SF cinnamon syrup, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: the three of us (MIL, DH, and I) are supposed to meet my mother for lunch, so not sure. Something safe.
AS: probably nothing
D: pulled pork and grilled zucchini
have a great day, everyone!

That sounds like a lot of weight bearing exercise to me!! Heavy on the lifting and squats:-)

G'morning all,
Happy hump day! As long as it's not foggy it's a glorious day.
A question for those who have teenage sons. Are they moody and closed off? DS has been back from his summer program, we were hoping to spend some time together, nothing too off the charts, jus****ch a show together at night but this kid is either out with his friends or gf or he is in his room. While he was gone we fixed his car to the tune of $1200, but not even a thank you as if it was expected. Don't get me wrong, he is never disrespectful, never answers back, does his chores, goes to work...it's just like he doesn't like us and doesn't wanna be around us! Ugh! I thought we were good parents.
QOTD: lost. I was so disappointed because it was one show that we actually watched every week live, didn't stream it. When it was over DH and I looked at each other and literally yelled WHAT??? It was too out there. As if the writers didn't know or didn't have the time how to close all the loops. The other one I gave up on was the new season of Twin Peaks. The old series was good but the new one, again, was too far out there for me to follow.
My meals for the day:
- Coffee, coffee, and more coffee
- Chicken pineapple meatballs (Costco)
- Pulled pork
- Yogurt or parm cheese
Have a great hump day, everybody.

Lost made me mad because so many people "guessed" where they were but the creators outright lied that it wasn't true. Also, it was dumb, lol. It was fun when it last though - my work team at the time, we set up a 30 minute meeting the next day for us all to discuss last nights episode so we all had to watch real time!

Yes, the Lost finale was a disaster! Its funny--I loved every episode up until the finale. My mom hated every episode, but loved the finale. Go figure.

yes! they totally lied about it! I feel like at some point they were just writing episodes to keep people interested but had absolutely no idea where it was going, so by the end they had to come up with a cheap finale so it all made some sort of sense...but it still didn't really make sense and there were still too many unanswered questions.

The idea that they were all in purgatory was nonsense to me.

Sheila, people always say that girls are hard, but I think boys are harder! My son is now 20 and I just feel like he doesn't "share" as much as my daughter did. Many times I have thought that he didn't like me or was annoyed with me. I think that they are just trying to find their way. Hopefully, your son will come around, mine did.
