What's on your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
I loved the line in Frasier, where Niles and Frasier are talking about the mystery books they wrote when they were kids. "Part Nancy Drew, part Hardy Boys." And Roz says "Oh, Nancy Boys."
Feel better.

I googled Trixie and her fan site has not been updated since 2011, so I think it's over for poor Trix.

Mornin'!
so far so good with my MIL's move - but we have A LOT of work to do this week! Lots of unpacking to do. We'll also need to go furniture shopping soon since she junked a lot of hers before she left - it was 30+ years old and just too big for her apt (the apt is good size - 1100 sq ft - but still, her house was bigger and could handle bigger pieces - plus big clunky furniture just isn't the thing anymore. I think she's going to go for more of a streamlined, minimalist look). She's very stressed out due to the move - which is stressful regardless of how well it goes - and she had some things that did NOT go well - like having the buyers from hell - but hopefully she'll calm down and settle in in a few days. At least she loves her new apt. I do, too - I'd certainly live there!
QOTD: I'm pretty much a non-fiction reader, although I've thought about picking up some mysteries and giving them a try. Reason being, I loved Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys and Trixie Belden books when I was a kid.
accountability was great yesterday - 1400 kcal (low for me - I can lose weight on that). I was busy all day with my MIL and then a board meeting last night, so not much time to sit around wondering what I was going to eat next. I'm a boredom eater, so keeping super busy and out of the house is key.
4 years 1 month out:
B: protein pancakes topped with 1/3 C plain Greek yogurt, diced peach or 1/2 mango, and SF cinnamon syrup, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: we'll be at MIL's. They'll probably want to go out to lunch. I'll take a protein bar or two with me just in case...
AS: probably nothing
D: same as lunch
ex: I'll either stop by the gym or take a long walk before heading over to MIL's. It's beautiful out today!! I wish the whole summer was like this - sunny and not hot and humid!
Good Morning Julia and menu peeps! Love the helicopter ride. The only one I ever went on was 15 minutes over Sedona, gorgeous but thought I was going to puke.
So today is a big day on many levels:
1- Second morning drinking morning ?Go-big-or-go-home-latte? and not dying from acid. I haven?t had my morning coffee w/o dying in 2 months. 2 months.
2-,Since I am working 39 hours, and defacto manager anyway I put my hat in the ring to become manager. I actually like GNC. Well I had a conversation with the regional manager yesterday- I was awkward and bumbled...He said he would be checking my sales numbers yesterday. He is coming to the store to meet me Wednesday. Yesterday afternoon I got a message asking me to join the managers weekly conference call this morning. So Yay!
3- Today is my 5 year anniversary from WLS. Had it 2 days before my birthday. A rebirth and new beginning. 5 years is significant because in all the clinical studies that is the line of demarcation of success. If at 5 years you have kept off 50 percent of your excess body weight you are successful. I have kept off 100 percent. That is not to say the scale has been exactly at the same number in maintenance the whole time, but it has always been in what I call - the range of normal. I will probably do a 5 year post sometime this week but wanted to celebrate today.
QOTD: Growing up I loved Nancy Drew... and yes to Murder she wrote. I never heard of Trixie Belden.
