What do you do to workout?
I swim 1/2 to 1 mile every other day in Florida often do water aerobics and walk every morning at least an hour .
In NYC they say the average resident walks six miles a day - I never get on the subway and I'm exhausted after an excursion so ... I used to rollerblade a lot but I got run into by a biker and broke my wrist and ended up breaking the other one in a sinkhole . Need to buy some new blades for Florida ... and wear wrist guards !
Other than that I garden I walk on the beach dip in the ocean .... occasionally kayak . Oh and I love to hike - used to do talk therapy twice a week hiking in a local park with my therapist and her dog . Then she wanted to stop because of deer ticks :( .need to get in some horseback riding!
I try to focus on holistic balance in my workouts, so my goal beyond cardio is to tone and not overly to build muscle.
I work out with a trainer twice a week - focused mainly on toning and functional balance/core work. My sessions look more like total body physical therapy vs. strength training. It's really helped. I also try to roll and stretch after workouts or at night before bed.
My schedule
Saturday - Gym: Spin class (advanced) and body toning/core class with medium to light weights.
Sunday - Gym: 30 min boxing; 90min boot-camp style circuit training (20 stations for 1-2 minutes a station - two loops). The boot-camp focuses on total body workout. I sometimes do an easy Peloton class at night and do some shoulder work and core.
Monday - Off (mostly); occasionally at home will do an easy Peloton bike or at gym swim
Tuesday - Gym: Spin class (moderate) and Trainer
Wednesday - Home: AM Peloton bike hard class; occasionally in the evening at the gym (when I can make it given my work schedule) - Group Fight (kickboxing and cardio class) and body toning/core class with medium to light weights.
Thursday - Gym: 30 min cardio (row/eliptical/stairmaster/jacob's ladder - some variation of one or more); and work with trainer
Friday - Gym: Swim am; Home: Peloton fun ride in evening
HW 510 / SW 424/ GW 175 (stretch goal to get 10 under) / CW 160 (I'm near the charts ideal weight - wonder if I can stay here)
