Good Morning!

I am so excited for today's adventures in unemployment. Grim and I are taking a helicopter ride today! It was a present for his birthday, so I hope he likes it. I am a little nervous, but trying to focus on the fun. The ride will be going over the amazing mansions in Newport RI, so the view should be fantastic!

Accountability: Haha, you will all appreciate this... I have been trying to plan out my meals a week in advance on MFP. Yesterday I posted the right day, but as I was looking to see what to eat, I was on Tuesday's menu. So I mostly ate "on plan" just a different plan that I posted, haha. I didn't really exercise formally (temps were too hot) but I treaded water in a crowded lake for about an hour and tried to make it a workout for myself. A few peanut M&Ms also fell into my mouth. Whoops. Lost one oz. I'll take it :)

QOTD: Do you have a favorite movie or TV soundtrack? I have a few favorites. I love The Graduate, Trainspotting, Pretty in Pink... Last night I also downloaded the one from Stranger Things 3. Great collection of 80s tunes!

I'm not really sure how accurate this menu will be. If the rain holds off, we might explore Newport and find some good fish or lobster along the ocean!

Exercise: Hoping to get to the gym to put in a few miles this afternoon.

Not quite as hot today but I suspect the humidity will be even worse because we're supposed to have storms all afternoon and evening.

It was definitely a busy weekend. Saturday was errands and trying to get rid of some books and quilting fabric. Had an open house and no one showed but I did get rid of a few pieces and some books online. BTW if anyone is interested in quilting, happy to let you know what I have.... Yesterday started with a good session with my therapist, followed by 2 hours of heavy yard work in the heat, but I got some good work done! Then I took DW to a book group and went to the gym for an hour and a half. I did a hard lower body and ab workout and then ran on the treadmill. I felt tired but pumped when I got done.

Today I'm working from home and probably doing either some credit hours or OT, so it will be a long day...of course all is dependent on the wifi and power staying up with the storms!

With the heat, my tum is being fickle. Lots of hydration including PowerAde Zero and TJ's electrolite water and less coffee. Sticking to a protein shake, CarbMaster yogurt, small portions of EverRoast chicken, Lactaid cottage cheese w/ berries & slivered almonds and everything else is touch and go. Trying to stay protein forward and within plan and providing good fuel for my workouts. Trial and error....

Exercise: too hot to do much outside. May join a cyber group session this evening and then do a short workout at home. Problem is that there isn't any AC in my little gym and it's usually over 90 back there these days!

Hey Jim, if you get a chance, can you tell me more about what your workouts look like? Cardio vs weights, functional vs more traditional weight lifting? As with Mike, inquiring minds want to know...

Good Morning JB and Menuers,

We had a great time at the concert last night even though it was a billion degrees. We got home after midnight and I feel pretty awful this morning because I can't sleep past 6 AM. I don't have much planned for today. A friend of ours is coming down to help DH with a few things he can't do since he hurt his arm. Surgery is Thursday.

QOTD:. My all time favorite movie is Steel Magnolias.

B: protein shake

L: sub in a tub

D: sliders, corn on the cob and cantaloupe

Lots of water and all vitamins
