Good morning all.

not much planned today so nothings set. I'm sure we'll do something but have no clue what yet! My brother and his family are on vacation so we have the week "off".

qotd:we have 5 pets. Frankie is named after Frank Sinatra because he croons a lot. My late grandma named our chihuahua Skippy because she skips sometimes when she runs. Merlin, our kitty who is 19, was named by my mom. He's always been a bit odd so she picked it. I named Opal because she had fiery eyes. My mom named Percy after the Percy Jackson books. In reality he should of been named pippen and Opal named Merri.

Good morning, everybody!

I don't think that I told everybody yet, but I have to go through two more weeks of Flourouracil cream on my forehead which I started on Sunday. This is tangentially related to my RNY because in order to get cleared for surgery, my Baritrician made me take care of all of my health issues and that included sun damage. She even made me explain various cuts and bruises. One of which was from walking into the side of a door because I didn't realize how big I was (embarrassing explanation!).

Anyways about 18 months ago I go and see the dermatologist and he prescribes me the cream, tells me to follow the directions and come back and see him in a couple of months. So I do that and he says that one area looks great, but asks why I didn't put it all over my forehead. I told him that I followed the product directions closely and that it said not to apply it over a wide area. He said that I vastly underestimated how foolish people were and that the maker has to include that language because people apply this cream to all manner of wildly inappropriate places. (Flourouracil 1).

So he says lets give the forehead some time to rest and I want you to put the cream all over your right cheek twice a day for four weeks (Flourouracil 2). This was not a good look. This cream is essentially a chemical peel. Which isn't a huge deal when its applied to a quarter size spot half under my hairline (Pre-RNY hairline) but when its applied to half of my head, I look like I have been mauled by a wolverine in my sleep. At this time my Dermatologist leaves the hospital system.

The new Dermatologist says that she thinks that Blue Light treatment would be better for me because it would be a one time solution. Last January I went for the blue light treatment and at my follow-up appointment in March, she says that she is thrilled with the improvement, and just as I am leaving throws out "lets do two more weeks of Flourouracil treatment on the other side of your forehead" UGGH. (Flourouracil 3)

All of which brings me to certain young barista at our office Starbucks. I have always thought that she viewed me as the kind of guy that she could settle for if she got sick of working and wanted to be supported. That is the magic that we have. I don't know if she will feel that way when I have a gaping head wound. I may have to go to Au Bon Pain until I heal. Also, clients may ask " If he is so smart why did he cut off half of his forehead while mowing the lawn?"

Hero week continues with Rankel. Those deadlifts are too heavy for me so I used 155 and a 55 pound kettle bell swing. My score was 4 full rounds plus three more deadlifts. Fair winds and following seas young Marine.

I fully expect Cynthia to post that she can do touch and go deadlifts with 225 until the cows come home. Oh well.

QOTD: We haven't had many pets, but the dog that we got came with a name.

Breakfast: turkey meatballs and cottage cheese

Snack: Protein bar

Lunch: Bratwurst

Snack: Light and fit

Dinner: Buffet at Board meeting (hopefully meaty)

Have a great day, all!

Jim, you continually crack me up. You are hilarious. On a positive note, I am glad you are dealing with sun damage. I am a skin cancer survivor myself and had to have a gaping hole cut out of my face along my nose and so I am the annoying person telling strangers to avoid sunburns...
