Haha, I like a few really inexpensive wines, too. #cheapdate

One of the clubs Marilyn really likes but the other one she doesn't drink so I should really cancel that.

Mornin' All!
Well I completely blew it last night at the neighborhood 4th of July potluck. They had some excellent choices - like beef kabobs, chicken kabobs, grilled salmon. And my Turkish chickpea salad wasn't a terrible choice as long as I kept it to about 1/2 a cup or less. And grapes. But I had all the bad stuff, too - cake, ice cream, cookies, potato salad, cornbread, some pina colada type of drink, a ham & cheese slider. It was the most calories I have had in one day in the last four years (i.e., since I had RNY). Even worse than Thanksgiving. I really need to try to avoid these kinds of things because I obviously can't control myself as I could as an early post-op. Even eating something before I went didn't help. I ate all the food anyway. Although I'm not going to dwell on this - I'm going to move on. Today will be better. And the next day.
QOTD: I don't really collect anything, although I seem to buy a lot of handbags at second hand stores....and I used to buy high-quality ones for cheap on eBay, too (now I pretty much stick to thrift stores). It's probably a good thing I buy them that way - at about $5 a pop - than at regular stores because it would be an expensive, totally unnecessary splurge since I have more handbags than I could ever hope to wear out in my lifetime.
Oh! I bought a rug for the new porch yesterday - as well as a wicker couch to go with it - both online. I don't have an exact picture of the couch since we could customize it (about 10-15 choices for wicker style and color - and probably 30 choices on cushion fabric. We went with white wicker and a turquoise/teal color cushions. There was a red that matched the rug perfectly, but turquoise seemed more calming and cool and will go better with the gray floor, I think... The other picture is of my and my plastic surgeon. I LOVE this guy. Luckily he wants me back in six months for another follow-up, because I will miss that office when it's all over - I just love the staff there!!
4 years out:
B: other half of the egg/avocado/cheese sandwich I had yesterday, coffee with half & half
MS: nothing (pedicure this morning - and an early lunch with friends)
L: at the low carb cafe - something on zoodles - either Pad Thai or Asian meatballs (love both dishes!)
AS: frozen protein shake
D: either sushi or a Beyond Burger with reduced fat mayo, tomato, and lettuce on a "skinny" bun
ex: I'd better do something - I feel like a slug...
whoops - forgot to upload the picture of my porch rug - be right back!!
Ta da! Here it is - - the porch rug I ordered yesterday (I got the 8' x 10' option)

The rug is great. I love the colors.
When I was heavy I "accidentally" collected purses, too. I just love fashion and shopping and those always fit now matter how big I got... I feel less attracted to them now that I can buys actual cute clothes instead!

Julia, those are great pictures! Glad you are making up for lost time after such a stressful year!
i am working today, already logged in but I expect it to be pretty slow so I'm going to focus on getting through the book I have to have read for my conference on Tuesday. It's only 187 pages so should be fine.
qotd - books, I collect all the books. All the books! Primarily history, fantasy and mystery but I also have a very robust cookbook collection.
