What's on your Thursday (July 4) Menu, RNYers?
Good Morning JB and Menuers,
In an unlikely turn of events DH fell from a ladder at work Tuesday afternoon. He is okay just a dislocated pinky, fractured elbow and a bruised back side from landing in his tool pouch. We were able to get all paperwork started and doctor's appointments lined up for workman's comp before leaving to camp. Thank goodness for friends that can help me drive and set up the 5th wheel. DH is still sleeping, Max and I went for a walk and now I'm sipping my coffee in the woods.
B: cheese, blackberries and Rainier cherries
L: something light
D: grilled Ribeye, crab cake, sweet potato and a smidge of birthday cake (our friend's birthday who is camping with us.)
Lots of water and all vitamins!
Happy 4th of July!

Oh gosh! Ladder falls are scary! Glad you were able to get things done and still go on your camping break. Enjoy the down time!

Good morning and happy fourth to all!
Sometimes I guess its what you don't say that makes all of the difference. We went to see the fireworks last night and as we were driving in, there was a picnic area about a half a mile from where they launch and when we drove past, DW looked at the picnickers and said "I wonder if you can see the fireworks from there". Now, bear in mind that Illinois is the flattest part of the country, they shoot these fireworks hundreds of yards into the air, there are no trees, and we are basically driving through a big series of parking lots. I briefly thought about all of these things, but decided that discretion was the better part of valor and simply said "I think that they can".
We get to the area where we are going to park, walk across the street, set up our chairs and a woman parks a five foot tall minivan in front of us. DW says "Do you think that we should move so that we can see the fireworks?" Again, I thought about pythagorean theorem, reminding her that she was, in fact, the one of us that started college as a math major, or suggesting that I obtain a sextant to demonstrate that of course we could see the fireworks hundreds of yards up in the air, but knowing that I had perhaps been too aware of the woman in the half tank top seated next to us, I decided to remain silent. About a half an hour later we watched a beautiful fireworks display.
On the way out we passed a parking lot halfway in between where we sat and the first picnic area, and DW said "I wonder if you can see the fireworks from there?"
I'm on my own for a day because my wife and children are in Florida at a computer gaming convention. Today I would like to work on my screen porch doors if it doesn't rain.
I liked the Costco Sous Vide Egg bites and I agree with Stacy that they are more filling than Starbucks.
Headed out to do a Fourth of July workout called "Whitten" It looks tough.
