Complete bowel and pouch
I had my surgery RNY in 2005, had another revision in 2007. I have had complications for several years with diarrhea. I had a colonoscopy and EDG a couple months ago because symptoms kept getting worse. Weight loss, diarrhea, bad stomach cramps, belching, passing horrendous gas, acid reflux. I just got the results from the test and I have microscopic colitis, hiatal hernia, infection in small intestine and pouch, numerous other problems. Being referred to Mayo clinic to specialist.
Has anyone else had such terrible internal symptoms from the RNY?
I hope all goes well for you in your treatment. Why are you assuming the surgery is the cause. My wife has micro collitis and does not have an RNY. It happens to about a million people in the US. Get a good Gastro (recco from your surgeon would be good, so they can work together). My wife has flares, but generally has improved significantly. Good Luck

RNY could make the condition worse.
I was MO because I always had gut problems. Getting RNY, helped me lose weight, but RNY and age, made my system more conductive to get SIBO. Google SIBO: Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO)
Having RNY makes me prone to SIBO and Candida. I know I have both. Low acid in pouch to no acid allows for sibo bacteria and candida to thrive. Unfortunately. Losing having SIBO and Candida gives me IBS.
To help with symptoms try to follow low FODMAP diet and.
It is what it is. I deal with that.

Have you had surgery for a twisted bile?
Could you explain more about what you mean by this?
What revision did you have in 2007? Was it from proximal to distal RNY? The symptoms sound typical to distal RNY. I hope the specialists at Mayo can help you.
