Whats on your Monday menu RNYers?
Hey Jim,
Wondering what you would like about helping me organize a virtual version of your field trip. I've seen alot of ads for virtual 5K's, etc. but adding in the intermittent workouts would be something different.
Thoughts?

Hello my RnY friends!
Gosh, is it possible to miss people you have never met? Because I MISSED you guys! I'm not sure if anybody noticed but I haven't been posting I think for about two weeks or so. It's been a whirl wind.
To make a very long story short, my nephew got in a car accident. My sister had to stay with him at the hospital. They live in Cardiff, Wales. My BIL couldn't take off work, my mom can't travel up to UK due to her health problems. My sister's MIL is getting up there for her age and can't leave Lucca and husband. So who's left? ME, all the way in CA. So I get the call from my sis that I'm needed to take care of the other kids and the household while she is at the hospital with her DS. I telecommute so practically I can work from anywhere. So I pick up and go to UK on a moments notice. Thank god my nephew was ok but for the first 3-4 days it was really scary. The kid will be 18 in July and hasn't had his DL for long, so he and a friend took his dad's car for a joy ride and totally crashed the car. Thank god both kids came out of it alive.
I stayed at my sis's house and took care of the other kids; school, homework, lunch, dinner, etc. It's so funny hearing my nephews and niece speaking English with a Welsh accent. I say funny because my sis and her husband both speak Italian at home. The little one who is 10 doesn't speak Italian at all, she understands it but always answers in English.
Once the crisis was averted and everybody was ready to go to regular life, I realized I'm so close to my mom (1.5 hr flight) I can't possibly go back to US without seeing her. So went down to Pisa and spent 4 days with her. I already have my ticket to Italy for an Oct visit with my mom but this was just a bonus one. Very happy about it. You can never replicate the smell of home no matter where you go in the world.
So here I am, finally back in US just in time for Father's day because couldn't miss that with DH.
I'm so happy to be back and posting here, it's just ridiculous!!! I gotta go back and read all the posts to get caught up with everybody.
Mwah!

It wasn't that spontaneous! For 1/2 a day I was panicking about the ticket and all the stuff back home. But my winning card was DS who is 17, his school was almost over and he can drive himself.
