Whats on your Monday menu RNYers?
This t-shirt was on my FB feed this morning and is such an awesome reminder and motivator for me! It's SO easy to just give up and say that I can't make things different in my life...but in reality, we do have a choice each and every day.
Another super hot and humid day here with T-storms in the afternoon. I'm working from home and will drive DW to an appointment on my lunch break. Last week I did a 4+ mile wog (walk/jog) while she was there. It poured the whole time but was a good break from work. Thinking I may do the same again today. It's a hilly course, so good cardio and a great challenge!
Menu:
B: coffee w/ Miralax, Lactaid cottage cheese w/ raspberries, blackberries & slivered almonds
S: turkey breast, protein shake
L: TJ's chicken sausages, baby carrots
S: CarbMaster yogurt
D: not sure, but I'm hungry for fish
Exercise: 4+ miles at lunch, maybe a walk or swim after work, some strength training at home

Good morning, everybody. I had the best weekend! Friday night we shopped for rain ponchos and then watched Bohemian Rhapsody - I thought it was really good. Saturday morning our gym went on a field trip to a local pond and we ran 3 miles with 15 push-ups and 15 squats every 1/2 mile. After that had coffee together and I went home and packed to go into Chicago.
We checked into the hotel at about 3:00 and while the boys were napping we went up to the roof bar at London House and had a (non-alcoholic for me) drink. After that we headed up to Wrigley for the concert which was scheduled to start at 6:30. It actually started fairly promptly at a few minutes after 7:00. The half hour gave us some time to meet up with my sister and her family, get T-shirts and eat. The crowds were well behaved, but I think that it is safe to say the there were many early adapters of Illinois ' new weed laws in attendance throughout the night.
Set list follows:
Terrapin Station
Sugar Magnolia
Mr. Charlie
High Times
Friend of the Devil
Bertha
Mama Tried
Turn on Your Lovelight
Spanish Jam
Scarlett Begonias
New Speedway Boogie
Help is on the way
Slipknot
Franklin's Tower
Drums
Space
The Other One
Standing on the Moon
Sunshine Daydream
They encored with:
Ripple
One More Saturday Night
The highlights for me were Mr. Charlie, New Speedway Boogie and One More Saturday Night. More on Ripple later this week.
The concert ended at about 10:30. After the encore ended and the field lights came on my fifteen year old turned to me and said "Dad, when should I go to the bathroom". I said"ummm, maybe a half an hour ago?" Previewing Sunday's brunch, we then spent the next 20 minutes trying to swim upstream, like spawning salmon, back to the mens room while 40,000 fans went in the other direction. The fam enjoyed the concert and would all go back, although they could of lived without Drums into Space into a long pre The Other One instrumental.
Sunday we went to the Palm for brunch (yummy Steelhead) and then went home and vegged for the rest of Father's Day. My daughter gave me a cute drink book called Tequila Mockingbird. Although I haven't drank since surgery the book has drinks with fun literary names like "Remembrance of Things Pabst".
Breakfast: Turkey Meatballs and Cottage Cheese
Snack: Light and Fit
Lunch: Chicken
Snack: Jerky
Dinner TBD.
Have a great day, all.

Sounds like a WONDERFUL weekend!
Also kinda jealous of your field trip, but wondering if I could organize something like that for our in-gym clients...hmmm!
