Worthwhile read on the 10,000 steps trope
Interesting read. Especially the elderly women part. I assume they have the lowest muscle mass; thereby the lowest basal metabolism. I do NOT believe they are the most sedentary population.
So I am going to start with every BODY is different. Since life has gotten busy, I don't gym as often. I noticed a 4-5 lb weight gain. For me to lose that, I needed to increase my steps to 15,500 a day. I get this in by taking the long way to and from the train and getting up and walking 1,000 steps every hour at my sedentary job. This and a good diet have kept my numbers in a good range.
That is just what works for me.

I agree that every body is different! Getting up and walking 1,000 steps per hour is a great way to help keep ourselves strong, limber, and healthy. I get wrapped up in what I'm doing and often when I look up I'll realize that 2-3 hours, easily, have passed. I'll have to start setting a timer to alert myself that it's time to get up and move! Thanks for your post!
