chemical engineering is a pretty high demand field - salaries are higher in that field among recent grads than any other, or at least that was the case a couple of years ago (I'm married to a career counselor). Maybe they don't have a lot of internships available? Hmm. Although construction management is a great field, too. Actually, it's kind of great that he'll have a background in two really strong fields!

Good morning. I haven't been on in a week or so. I've mostly been overwhelmed with life stuff and this has seriously effected my resolve to stay on track. I started with a new therapist last week. I really like her so far. It was like talking to a friend that isn't telling you what you want to hear, but what you need to hear. Also she is helping me start to organize and normalize the chaos in my head was such a relief. Anywho - I'm feeling better, more myself and ready to tackle getting to a new healthy normal, what's old is gone. Prioritizing my health is #1.
Accountability - Today is back to basics for me

good morning everyone!
I had a really nice weekend, we enjoyed the perfect weather on Saturday at Brookfield zoo...we had a couple extra tickets but it seemed everyone we asked already had plans so it was just DH and Story and myself, which was nice- we didn't have to rush anything or follow anyone elses whims. we just went to all our favorite exhibits and walked at our own pace. got some sun and exercise!
yesterday was a totally lazy day. I didn't even get dressed til noon and didn't shower til the evening haha...I only left the house to go to Kohl's so I could make an Amazon return and pick up a few new summer clothes for Story. We bummed around the house the rest of the day, made banana bread and chicken salad, did some laundry and dishes and painted some pictures. I woke up this morning completely out of sorts and could not even remember what day it was...I think it was a good sleep lol!
Anyone watched Good Omens on Prime yet?

Hello everyone,
I am on day 4 post-op. I have managed to avoid dehydration by following the sipping schedule I was given upon release from the hospital. I came home on Saturday. I am managing to get down the pain pills, the multi, and stool softeners, though nothing has made an appearance in that area. I feel like I am getting in as much protein as I can - that will have to do.
I am finding that because I am only comfortable sleeping on my back, my CPAP is causing me to swallow some air during the night. Not a large amount, but enough to make me burp several times in the morning.
Something else that I am almost afraid to ask about... I woke up from surgery hungry. I am still hungry, though that goes away when I get my liquids in. I was under the impression that the hunger would just go away for the 'honeymoon' period. The hunger is manageable mainly because I don't allow myself to ruminate on thoughts of food - and this is physical hunger pains I am talking about not head hunger. But every time I go to sleep, I have a dream of eating something delicious - usually a cheeseburger or bacon, but last night I dreamt of a hotdog with all the fixings. Is this a bad sign? Does it mean that I'm in the unlucky percentage that doesn't get that 'honeymoon' period?
B: protein bone broth
L: protein shake
D: maybe cream soup w/ protein added
Lots and lots of sips of water

Great job for hitting your fluid goals- in my opinion that is the most important task right now. As far as hunger, I know we all have different experiences but maybe your body is adjusting. I know there are times now I feel hunger but I can't remember when that started. It wouldn't hurt to mention it to your dr/team at a follow up.
