Whats on your Monday menu RNYers?
Morning all! Working from home today and have the windows open for the cats, who are indoor but love to get the sights and smells from outside.
I had a weekend with its ups and downs. Friday afternoon I took DW to the GYN and we got the news that she is just oddly shaped...LOL. Apparently she doesn't have anything that shouldn't be there. She just has some differences in the way her body is structured. Strange but good news!
Saturday she crashed most of the day out of exhaustion while I ran errands and then spent 6-7 hours doing heavy yard work. I put down 30+ 40# bags of mulch, pruned back my forsythia, cleared out weeds and ivy from along one section of my fence and sprayed to kill the ivy, and planted a few fill-in perennials. I still have one more bed to turn and plant in front of the house but then the "obvious" work will be done. Our back yard is fenced in so I can do that work when I get a chance. Wow was I sore when I got done. Put some ice on my back for a while and watched some Netflix.
Sunday I had a great session with my therapist and then took DW to visit a church on the other side of DC, which always involves HORRIBLE traffic. I wasn't happy about it but did it anyway because she was willing to get out of the house. When we got home, I crashed for a while and then did some cleaning around the house. Our fur-kids really make a mess and keeping up with them can be quite a job.

Spreading mulch and doing yard work is no joke - seriously a good workout!

You would think that my cat would be bald with all the hair he loses... He's getting to be an old guy so doesn't groom himself very well anymore. I try to brush him or use the furminator to get rid of it, but we both run out of patience.
Glad to hear no hysterectomy for DW, I had one in 2012 it wasn't fun but I don't miss the monthlies.
Take care.

Mornin'!
It's a beautiful morning so far in the upper Midwest! Sunny and not too hot -- and did I mention sunny?
Weekend was pretty relaxing - I went to the gym both days and took long walks in the evening with DH. Got a few odds and ends done - but not enough. Need to finish some stuff up today. Also made spanakopita for a potluck I"m going to tonight. I had some dying bananas, so I also made banana walnut muffins to take as DH's contribution, but I made a lot of modifications to cut the fat and sugar, so I'm not sure how they turned out (he likes them - but then, he likes everything). I'll try half one later. If it's not great, I took some cookies out of the freezer that came from a bakery - they've been in there for awhile, so I'm glad to be rid of them. I can take those instead.
this week is going to be really busy. Not much today other than a celebration of women's suffrage at noon at the capitol - a friend asked me to go along. Then the potluck/board meeting this evening. Tomorrow I have my short story class in the morning and Mah Jongg in the afternoon. Wednesday we head for Chicago because I have another post-op with my plastic surgeon Thursday morning. Thursday afternoon we'll head back home. Then Friday morning I fly to Cleveland for the weekend to attend a friend's funeral. Back on Monday. DH will be in Arkansas most of next week. Where on earth is the summer going??
