Have any of you experienced this? The eating so much like today has been quite bothersome.

yep - we call them "big pouch days" and "small pouch days" on the RNY menu thread.

Yes, I've experienced that too!. It might make a difference whether I am eating "hard proteins or raw veggies" or soft foods. Soft or "slider foods" are easier to eat and not feel full, but they can be a hazard to weight loss or maintenance. I walk carefully with them. I don't do well with raw veggies either.

Interesting. I thought I was the only one who experienced this. Glad to know I'm not! Some days I can eat and eat and not feel full and other days it only takes a couple bites and I feel stuffed. And I'm talking the exact same food. So strange!

Even 11 years post op I deal with that. And it is small vs big pouch days. The type of food may dictate how much if a particular food I can put in my pouch.

I have a day I can eat 4-6 oz of filet steak, and a few bites of veggies, and even a couple bites of some carbs. Then a few days later, just 1/2 of similar steak is more than enough, and one bite of veggies seam to top it up beyond "comfortable".

Most people have issues with chicken, but surprisingly for me, my pouch loves it, and I easily can eat 5-6 oz of dry chicken breast and a few bites of veggies. Dark meat - much more moist than dry white meat - I can easily eat up to 8 oz. Without feeling discomfort. BTW - I am not sure if I could eat more than 8oz, because that where I put a limit on the amount of chicken I should eat at one setting.

Sliders vs dense proteins are completely different story. I easily can eat stew like dish, up to 12 oz, without major discomfort. On a big pouch day - I can manage to eat 12-16 oz, but in a small pouch day, even 8 oz may be too much.

BTW: when my weight is lower than it should be for me, I try to eat more if my pouch allowed, trying to concentrate on proteins and veggies. And that's when I am not very strict to eat ,just 4 oz of meat and veggies. That's when I eat as much as much pouch may tolerate without getting uncomfortably full. By now (11years) I know my body signals when I am reaching full capacity of my pouch. And 99% of the time I stop eating when I get them.

Just chiming in that yes, I experience this, it is VERY common with RNY. It is generally referred to as small/large pouch days. Take advantage of the small pouch days and don't feel so bad on the large ones!

Good luck!

Thanks for your input. Today, oddly enough, is a small pouch day!

We all have hormonal cycles (even men) that affect how we feel. My cycle seems to have about a 6 week duration. I'll be fine 5 of those weeks and then the last week I can't stop eating. Just try to do your best when those time hit.
