Good morning, my RnY kindred! Happy Wednesday!
Karen, thank you for starting today's thread. I always enjoy reading what you're up to as you travel about, giving service to others.
I hope those of you in the areas under severe storm watches have been and continue to be safe! A friend of mine in Staten Island (not a place normally associated with tornados) sent me a video of the hailstorm they had last night, with ping-pong ball sized hail, intense wind, and wild, violent lightning strikes. Her pretty new car was parked on the street - hopefully it remained intact. Be careful out there, you guys!
After several rainy days, Memorial Day here was hot, sunny and gorgeous! Yesterday was much cooler and once again overcast, with today following suit.
QOTD: I honestly don't follow any sport or team, but cheerfully root for the most local team on the rare occasions I find myself attending a game. I have two friends who were ballerinas when they were younger - talk about intense athleticism! - and I have some peripheral awareness of what their old ballet companies are doing. I also have some interest in equestrian events. I like the Americana feel of listening to a baseball game on the radio - it reminds me of clean sheets dried on the line, and clean, soap-fragrant, soft cotton T-shirts. I do enjoy watching a bit of Wimbledon on the 4th of July. I love the Olympics, both summer and winter. I am impressed by the intensity and passion of all Olympians, though of course I always hope for the USA to medal! But I am not really a follower of sports beyond these few minor exceptions.
I've been good. I'm walking more. My weight yesterday was 126.4 - I'm still in bed and haven't weighed yet today. I'm largely avoiding nuts and otherwise being on point. Speaking of nuts, my Egyptian friend told me that in that country someone who wants to gain weight will be advised to eat nuts which have been roasted in butter. This is regarded as a sovereign cure, and based on my experience with nuts, I'm sure it's most effective!
First: Coffee with cashew milk and SF syrup. I'm enjoying Dunkin' Donuts French Vanilla coffee beans these days.
B: Chicken. Plain nonfat Greek yogurt with blueberries.
L: roast beef (I'm making an eye of round roast), a little cheese
D: roast beef, some spring mix/baby spinach salad, a few grape tomatoes, a little Skinny Girl dressing.
Tons of tea and a bit more coffee throughout the day.
Have a good one, my friends!
Hey stranger! Nice to see you posting!
