Whats on your Monday menu RNYers?
This Murph challenge was all the rage in our household last year. DH and his running buddies did it for about 5-6 months. They were wearing a 20 lb vest to make it more difficult/challenging or just their idea to be soldiers! He says it was very rewarding but realized he was bulking up too much and it was affecting his running and surfing (need lean body for those) so he stopped. He also mentioned the pull-ups hurt his shoulders, so be careful.

No vest this year Sheila, maybe next.
Also, is your husband complaining that he has to choose between being slender and jacked? Because there is a much worse alternative that he is missing out on.

LOL. First I had to google what being jacked means.
"Being jacked is a term of endearment. It means you are quite large, have more muscle than the average gym member and look like you lift."
Thank god he is not jacked!! My husband is one of those lucky guys who has never gained an oz in his entire life. He's had a 30" waist since high school. He started running when he turned 40 because he thought surfing alone was not enough cardio for his middle age. His approach to all of this is very methodical, there is no emotion. It's not bcz he needs to lose weight or wants to get buffed, it always starts as a challenge then he realizes he likes the workout. To top it off he is also one of those annoying guys who doesn't understand the emotional attachment to food. So you can imagine the patience he's had with me the last 20 years while I was battling my demons with weight.

Monday/Tuesday - LOL, I was confused for a minute. Today DH is at daycare so even though it is cloudy with some rain later I am going to try to do something for myself. Maybe a long walk with Justice if the rain holds off.
QOTD: Definitely 5 days of stuff packed into 4 days makes it seem really long or really short as the time flies, but regardless much more busy than usual.
3 years, 2 months post-op. About 15 pounds above desired weight range but still in normal BMI (had dropped about half of the 15 prior to SIL's diagnosis but gained it back - definitely a stress eater)
B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
L: avocado toast
D: shrimp
S: sweetened cottage cheese

Mornin' All!
I went to a movie last night with DH and couldn't keep my hands out of his freaking popcorn. Up another pound this morning. Calorie-wise I wasn't too far over my limit, but all that salt - ugh. Feeling it this morning. I have to be strict the next few days and drink a ton of fluids!!
congrats Karen on getting back down to 123. You are an inspiration!!!
Pedicure later on this morning, then I may go to a new Mah Jongg group this afternoon since my usual one isn't meeting today (the person who was out of town last week is still gone). There's an author talk tonight at the main library downtown that I'm interested in attending as long as the storms hold off...
3 years 11 months out:
B: protein pancakes with 1/3 C plain Greek yogurt and 1/2 C strawberry/rhubarb sauce, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: may not have time between the pedicure and Mah Jongg (if I go to the latter), so I'll take a protein bar along just in case
AS: light yogurt or sweetened cottage cheese
D: deli turkey on a "bun" (this is a multigrain thing that's about the size of an English muffin) with reduced fat mayo, lettuce, and tomato
ES: if needed, same as AS
have a great day, everyone!

Good morning. Finally got rid of the compression wraps post skin removal. Feels nice, though have a few sore spots that require a little padding. I purchased a treat for myself yesterday at the Outlet mall - got myself a Bose BlueTooth speaker to put down with the Peleton. My wife is NOT happy as I was jamming out last night. I'm finally back to normal 45 minute classes, which is great (big smile on my face). The speaker was great too. I also hit the pool for the first time in months yesterday. Swimming was hard, as I was tired after 15 minutes, but made it to 25 (arms are very weak still). I then did a group aqua class (35 women and 2 guys - I was very popular). The odd thing. I had a loose, way to big, swim suit on and luckily I had a jammer suit on underneath. The swimsuit flew off, making me laugh and smile that I planned ahead. I realized that the jammer fit fine and without the big stomach flap - actually looked normal. That was my first post surgery ah ha.
QOTD: Short weeks - all weeks are long, so a 4 day week is great. Next week is just 3 days, as I'm heading up to Door County for a long weekend. The dogs love it as the house we rent sits on 8 acres. One of our dogs is on full recall, so she gets to run and run. The other would disappear forever if she saw a squirrel, so she gets a 100 foot lead only - but that's fun for her too.
I started a week of no white starches/refined goods. I want to punch into the 170s as the swelling is going down and the weight isn't :( So time to get rid of those fruitzee popsicles, etc.
PWO: 1/4 of a protein bar - made into eggface cookies
B: 2 eggs; turkey sausage link
S: Fage and nuts
L: Leftover brisket from weekend and small salad
S: Apple with nutbutter
D: 1/2 pub burger we grilled over the holiday and small salad
