Mornin' All!

I have my wonderful film discussion group today (we meet over lunch) and I need to run a couple of errands. Going forward, the more I can be out of the house, the better. I'm struggling with my weight again (I'm about 3 lbs above my "oh crap" level, and have been for awhile), and I think it's a combo of not being able to do my regular exercise routine (haven't been cleared yet - but I've been trying to walk more lately - not always successful, though) and being in the house too much. It's so easy to just go out to the kitchen and see what there is to eat if I'm just sitting around here. When I'm out & about, I'm a lot less likely to think about food. SO....I need to start sitting down again for an hour or so every weekend and making myself a schedule for the upcoming week. I'll also register for a couple of senior classes, even though the offerings are skimpy in the summer and none of them are really jumping out at me. My gym membership starts up again next weekend (I suspended it for eight weeks since I knew I wouldn't be able to do much other than walk during that time, which I can do outside...). I'm not feeling like I'm going to be ready to return to some of my favorite gym activities (pool, yoga, Zumba), but at minimum I can go over there every morning and ride the stationary bike or NuStep.

I had training for my new (volunteer) job yesterday. Now I just have to wait to get some client files to see whom I'm interesting in being matched with (the agency gets files from the court as the volunteers (e.g, me!) are court-appointed legal guardians for these folks). She said sometimes they get slammed with files, other times a month could go by with nothing - so not sure when I'll get an assignment, but I'm really looking forward to it.

QOTD: no plans other than possibly go to this wonderful lighting warehouse in Milwaukee tomorrow to see if we can find a ceiling fan for our new screened porch (they haven't started yet - they're waiting for a few rain-less days to get going on it..)

3 years 11 months out:

B: protein pancakes topped with 1/3 C plain Greek yogurt and either ligonberry preserves or homemade blueberry/blackberry sauce

MS: protein shake

L: at the restaurant with the film discussion group. I usually get soup and a half sandwich, but I've been really curious about Impossible Burgers, and you can get any one of their burgers with that option. I've heard that the more "stuff" that's on the burger, the more the Impossible Burger seems like real ground beef, so I'll get one with lettuce, tomato, or whatever.

AS: if needed, light yogurt or raw veggies with Greek yogurt ranch dip

D: deli turkey with lettuce, tomato, and reduced fat mayo in a Flat Out FoldIt

ES: if needed, same as AS

have a great day, all!

Good morning. Recovery going well from PS. I'm finally getting to normal Peloton workouts vs. only doing low impact, so that feels good. I'm finally cleared after today to hit the pool, so that will be sometime this weekend (assuming I can find one of my old swimsuits from middle of last year - still swollen though my legs and mid-section). Accountability good, but did have two of my wife's baked cookies yesterday. She only bakes 5 times a year and I really only like them fresh vs. from the freezer (so I usually let myself have one or two).

I was at an offsite meeting yesterday and my VP asked me to stand among my 300 peers (while she was talking about her "candy cart social" - you can order a candy cart to any company meeting). She had all these pictures of people enjoying the cart and I knew I was going to get pooped on jokingly. You see there isn't ONE healthy snack on that thing, so I sent her an email (jist - Hey, how about a nut, piece of dark chocolate or combine the two - just one out of 40 items for the flippin cart). I've known her for 25 years, so this was her joking way to recognize my transformation and give me credit for having the ba..s to call her out on nutrition. Good news, she's adding one jar of dark chocolate almonds!!! Better than nothing. But then we went to the 10:30 breakout session (snack time) - damn it - she duplicated the cart in all the break stations and NO we didn't have any healthy items (yes, I gave her **** and my boss gave me a dirty look). Thankfully I brought my own snacks.

B - 2/3 cup steel cut oats and some nuts

S - whites from two HB eggs and a chomps stick

L - Small salad and 3 oz turkey

S - med apple and nut butter

D - 3 oz pork, 1/2 cup chili and small salad

S - SF popsicles

I'll update my weight once the bloat is gone from the surgery. I went into surgery at 185 and came out at 205. I'm back to 186 after 4 weeks. They didn't tell me how much they removed, but did say it was "alot" - jee thanks. I suspect it was 6 to 10 pounds.

QOTD and photo friday - I'm crawling in between these ladies and watching TV. JK - I'll be workout and pushing myself a little harder as I get to remove all the compression wraps after Saturday.

I had a similar issue at the (believe it or not) hospital where I had my PS. They fed me dinner about 4:00 pm (I'd been in surgery for six hours), so by around 9:00 pm, I was famished (since all I'd had that day was that crappy dinner - which I kind of picked at - hospital food, you know...). DH went downstairs to the vending machines to try to find something for me to eat. There was absolutely nothing in them - just things like chips and candy bars. At a hospital, I figured they'd have at least some healthy-i****ems in their vending machines. Even peanut butter crackers or a small bag of cashews would have been acceptable, but...no. So he had to run over to Walgreens to get a couple of protein bars. At least it was just up the street. Sheesh. I made sure to note that in the evaluation survey I got in the mail a few days later. They need to stock those machines with at least some healthier items. Or leave a few at the nurses' stations. Unbelievable.

Good morning everybody. I had a great time meeting Jen yesterday. She is just the same in real life as on OH. It does looks like she is going to get rained on today.

Today seems like a pretty quiet day except that there is this one lawyer that wants to have a conference call this afternoon. There always is.

80 Burpees.

I may have an NSV to report on Tuesday, stay tuned.

QOTD: we are going to a wedding in Minnesota this weekend. We are going to stay one extra night and go to the Minnesota Twins game later this weekend.

Breakfast: Turkey meatballs and cottage cheese

Snack: Protein bar

Lunch: Chicken

Snack: Jerky

Dinner TBD

Picture is from golf Monday. Our foursome wore matching outfits to psych out the competition. It didn't work. Also, it was so cold that we had to wear coats at all times except during pictures.

Have a great weekend all!

happy friday everyone!

it's our CEO's last day here (they're still looking for a replacement) so there's a bunch of food all over for his "farewell" party...I did actually grab something but it was just 3 strawberries and a handfull of blueberries so I feel OK about it LOL.

QOTD: tomorrow I think we are going to take Story to see the new Aladdin movie, maybe do some cleaning and housework, Sunday I am finally getting together with my old friend from Highschool to do some wardrobe re-vamping on her and go out shopping! I am super excited to give her a nice new fashion makeover! we have had to reschedule a few times but it looks like we actually have a date that will work now!
Monday my mom invited us all over for a cookout, so we'll be doing that...I hope the rain lets up at least ONE of the days this weekend so we can get some time out in the sun.

Morning: coffee w/sf coffeemate
B: 1/2 C cottage cheese, 1 small nectarine, 3 strawberries and a handful of blueberries
L: turkey sausage & garlic parm spaghetti squash w/broccoli
AS: L&F greek yogurt, no sugar added blueberry applesauce cup
D: Pork fried cauliflower rice
ES: Enlightened Ice cream bar

Story and I took another little walk down to the beach last night after dinner and it was SO gorgeous. I seriously cannot believe how blessed we are to have found such a place to live. It has been pretty amazing so far. I'm attaching some pics from the beach yesterday- Story playing with the water and my cool long shadow that reminds me of Jack Skellington, or an exaggerated fashion illustration.

Good morning,

i slept till 10 am. I was tired after work but I went to the gym anyway. I felt better afterwards. No more excuses about going.

Misty and Netty are getting along great even though they beat the heck out of each other. Netty is coming to me now. When I wake up, they both come and snuggled with me. That's a great morning greeting.

Qotd Going to church support group tonight, tomorrow donating plasma and going to a norwex party and spending time with friends. Church on Sunday, no t sure if I'm going to see my dad or wait till Monday to go. I've been taking their trash to the curb so I'll probably go on Monday. Nothing spectacular.

B ham and cheese omelette and sola bread

L tuna, cottage cheese and green beans

D sesame chicken from last night and a little bit of rice

Have a good weekend.

My picture of Misty and Netty by each other after beating each other up.
