Whats on your Monday menu RNYers?
Amy, that is horrible. Happy you are OK. The road rages are scary and nowadays you don't know if they carry a gun or not. Happy you are safe. Wishing you a relaxing day.

Jen
morning everyone,
the weekend was really nice, we got a bunch of checks in the mail from our health insurance company, seems they paid some claims that were previously not paid by our HRA acct, and we had paid them ourselves so we were reimbursed. I had no idea! it was almost $500 worth of checks too so that was a really nice surprise.
We decided to put it into savings for now but took about $50 out to go thrift shopping and we got a few new clothing pieces for all 3 of us.
We went out to dinner after and I was starving, All I had eaten was a yogurt that morning and when we got there, they had peanuts and popcorn on the table. I am never really interested in popcorn but I did eat too many peanuts and by the time our food came I was really not even hungry anymore but I still ate, and of course I ended up getting sooo sick, even though I only ate about 1/4 of it...I laid in bed for about an hour til it passed. It was pretty awful.
I know the low residue foods list is not exactly bariatric friendly so I am glad I am back to being able to eat my fruits and veggies again! I am up 2 lbs and I want to get rid of them!
QOTD: I have never been a fan of exercise but that's mainly because I hate doing anything I am not good at and I've been obese all my life. I always enjoyed swimming though...of course I don't really have a chance to go swimming regularly but I recently discovered PIYO through a beach body DVD set I got from my sister and I really love it. It's low impact, and it's a perfect starting point for me...It gives me a chance to have a daily exercise routine without leaving my house or needing any equipment...for 20-40 minutes per day I am adding strength, flexibility and stamina...it's everything I need right now.
I've also had so many NSV's this year that it's hard to pinpoint a favorite, but I have to say it's probably the clothes. It's so exciting to be able to find clothing in any store that I can wear, and be able to pay a fraction of the cost of what I used to in plus sizes.

L: 4oz baked cajun cod fillet, 1/4C steamed veggies, string cheese

Good afternoon. It's been awhile, but I was home recovering after my plastic surgery and didn't have my computer while on medical leave (hate entry via the iphone). Surgery recovery was good, but with an unexpected side effect. I didn't expect to swell to the level I did post - I felt and even looked like the Michelin man. But back to work today after 3 weeks. Glad to get back to a normal routine and dietary groove.
QOTD - I didn't do much during my first 7 months post-op. Finally I decided to swim and joined a nearby gym. My greatest NSV back then was getting up early everyday and hitting the pool. It became addictive and I really enjoyed being active. Now I do so much more that I barely swim. However, given the last 4 weeks has been restricted activity, I will start swimming next week again. Though I've been on my bikes over the last few weeks. I think the best advice for you is what I share at Support Group regularly. Find something you enjoy and become a beast about it. Have fun and tear it up. That mindset was all the difference and making this surgery most successful.
