What's on your Wednesday menu,RNYers?
Mornin'!
another beautiful day out there! I'd love to get out and walk, but my upper right leg has been killing me the last couple of days (I injured that hip c. 10 years ago, and it's never fully recovered). Might have been due to too much walking in Chicago this weekend? ("too much" only in that it's way more than what I'm used to). Maybe I'll just take a stroll and not pu**** The gentle movement and stretching might help (??). I'm going to some luncheon speech with my mother today, then..?? I might do some work for the organization I chair - like doing some database cleanup. And doing more thinking about potential speakers for next season.
Accountability: OK yesterday (not great, but acceptable). I was hoping to end up more at the 1500 kcal end of my range, but ended up at 1700. I can maintain on 1700, but I'm trying to lose my weekend gain. I wi**** wasn't so hard to lower my calories!! I should probably pick up some raw veggies today - those help with volume - plus they kind of bother my stomach, which is a positive - keeps me from eating too much in general!
QOTD: I love hanging out at outdoor cafes and pretty much anywhere near bodies of water!!

Kelly, do you think we replace one food with another in our diets? I noticed you do like I do. I say to myself I won't have bars any more but then I go out and buy this paleo snack bite (which are VERY good btw but I don't need them in the house) that I can't resist and snack on. I feel certain time of the day I want food, I know I'm not hungry but maybe it's pre WLS habit that is coming back, and I just munch mindlessly. I try to gravitate towards healthier food but it's still mindless munching. It drives me crazy and I fight it every day like a drug addict.

I tend to plan and schedule my snacks and since I'm a tad OCD that works most of the time although, if you saw my post today, food accountability isn't so hot!

G'morning Karen and menu peeps!
I have been scarce here due to an event I had last night. It went without a hitch and I can sigh a relief. Out of curiosity I looked up my weight for this specific event last year. It was 25 lbs higher. Still, at the time I had lost about 95 lbs. Well, last year barely anyone mentioned my wl. Somebody even asked me if I had changed my haircut. While this year even the men (who usually are afraid to comment on a woman's appearance) commented that I looked really fit! So I wonder if the last 25 lbs were more visible or if I no longer look obese after the last 25 lbs. No matter which way I rocked the dress I had bought for this event and felt very comfortable.
QOTD: I have tried activities that in the past I would shy away from. Last your we went river rafting which I hadn't done since before kids. I keep asking for hikes. In fact I was bummed about mother's day plans with MIL because we couldn't go on a hike with her being in a walker. Any excuse for me to be active is a good one. I am no longer embarrassed to put myself out there and be seen.
Accountability: OK, not great. I stuck to the plan with mahi mahi last night, but when dessert came (blueberry bread pudding) I took 2-3 bites. I was happy I didn't wolf it down, just 2-3 bites. That's a victory in my book.
My meals for the day:
- Coffee, coffee, and more coffee
- Chicken skewers
- Shredded pulled pork
Have a great hump day!

I think it depends on where you are at weight wise. I know in the past, I'd lose 50 lbs and no one would notice. I lost 52 lbs pre-surgery and no one really noticed except for a few. But now, I lose 5 lbs (trying not to do that lOL and have finally succeeded, I think, I'm bony) and I get, wow, you've lost weight. I think 50 lbs when we are big is much less noticeable than 25 lbs is when you are smaller, if that makes any sense.
