I'll get us started this morning.

Super busy and off-track food wise. PT, family dinner, teacher banquet, and teacher appreciation week are making my struggle real. I need to be a better prepper and need to have a plan to make better choices.

QOTD: What is your favorite quote? Mine is, "Enjoy the little things in life... for one day you will look back and realize they were the big things." No explanation needed and I do try to enjoy the little things and live a simple life.

TSS 1 year and 4-months/participating in no weigh May so no weight

Mornin' All!

I'm off to the infusion center at the hospital this morning to get my annual infusion of Reclast, an osteoporosis drug. I hope it goes better this year than last year. Last year I was fine the day of, but then felt like I'd been hit by a truck for the next two days. But we'll see - I may have no side effects at all this time around, it's hard to tell (and unnerving because it's not like they can suck it back out once it's in your system...). But on the positive side, my new laptop is scheduled to arrive today, and I'll be playing Mah Jong with my new Mah Jong group this afternoon (we weren't crazy about the woman who was hosting our original group, so three of us decided to form our own group, and one of us found and invited a fourth "victim" to play it with us). I'm still not sure if I like this game, but I really like the people in our newly-formed group, so I'll keep going for the time being.

QOTD: I can't really think of anything off the top of my head, but bethmal's quote made me think of something - it's odd when something you did or said or happened to you seemed trivial at the time, but then you end up being haunted by it years and years later.

oh - I forgot to add that my plastic surgery results have really made a noticeable improvement just in the last few days. Those arm scars I was worried about - flat as a pancake now (probably since it looks like the sutures have dissolved), and they're thin and look great! I still have some internal sutures sticking out in a couple of places (evidently, this isn't too uncommon) making it hard to tolerate compression garments for more than two or three hours (I wore them for 22-23 hours/day after my LBL last summer), so maybe the surgeon can pull them out - or something. I'm worried about not being able to wear compression for more than a couple hours a day, although the results are looking great, so maybe this isn't that big a deal...

3 years 11 months out:

B: 3 small protein pumpkin pancakes with 1/3 C plain Greek yogurt and 1/2 C homemade apple/cinnamon compote, coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake

L: maybe a salad with shredded chicken breast. Or cottage cheese with raspberries

AS: light yogurt or protein pumpkin pie

D: pulled pork

have a great day, all!

Good morning, Beth. Today is a little less hectic for me than yesterday morning was.

We had a wonderful weekend at the Derby. We stayed in Lexington and drove down on Thursday - it took about 6 and a half hours, mostly through rain. Thursday night was a reception with food, bands and Bourbon tasting (did not partake). There was an artist at the reception who was autographing her book of pictures of retired horses. After breakfast Friday we shuttled from Lexington to Louisville for the Kentucky Oaks Day, which is a one mile race for fillies. The weather was great on Friday and we got lots of pictures.

Marilyn was cracking up at the men's attire. She said that she expected that the women would all be dressed up but didn't know what to expect from the men. Friday was a fundraiser for women's health so everybody wears pink which you will see from Friday's pictures.

Saturday morning was a challenge to get up and do Burpees, but I got through it. After breakfast we shuttled back to Louisville for the Derby. Saturday there were even more people than on Friday. The weather was actually O****il about an hour before the 6:50 EST Derby race. And then it started to pour. The tour company had given us all ponchos, so that helped a little bit, as did the hats. But it was still so great, the long walk down the stretch, everybody singing My Old Kentucky, home and then the start of the race.

I could not see the interference from where I was sitting, but it was a long, awkward wait for the results to be announced. Needless to say anybody (like Amy's son) holding a ticket for Country House was ecstatic. My horse was fourth, so I lost in either case. All in all, I was a net contributor to the pools for the weekend although I did win some on the aptly named Hungry Kitten in the fourth race Saturday.

Sunday night we bussed back to Lexington and collapsed. They played Secretariat on the TV in the bus which helped shorten the ride, and Sunday morning we drove back to Chicago, this time in mostly sunny weather.

QOTD: I don't have a particular saying that I claim to myself but a friend of mine follows "Do today what others won't so you can do tomorrow what other can't", and I like that.

63 Burpees, 2,016 so far.

Breakfast: Turkey meatballs and cottage cheese (Haven't had this since Wednesday)

Snack: Protein bar

Lunch: Pork

Snack: Light and fit

Dinner: Hamburgers

Have great day, all.

You know, you are allowed to share pics even before Friday. Maybe just a couple of the head gears? I saw them online and they were beautiful!

Buying a new car Today I made a mistake and bought an after market warranty so I'm trading in my 2016 Escape (it's so cute the color is Electric Spice) and I'm upgrading to the 2019 Edge. I always buy the ones with the least bells and whistles because I don't want to have to take a class to learn how to work my car. As long as I can answer the phone through Bluetooth and start it remotely I'm good.

I went through the pantry and brought all my bars into the office breakroom! They have found good homes that are not mine!

What's the reason for no bars?

I'm not certain of Jen's reason, but I personally avoid bars altogether. They are a bit too candy/cookie-like for me. I'd rather have jerky if I need quick protein. I wish that SF jerky was more easily found, though! If you're not careful to read the label, 3 or so ounces of jerky can easily contain more than 20 grams of sugar. It pays to be diligent!
