Whats on your (Photo) Friday menu, RNYers?
Oops, I know what you mean. These deers might not get shot, but honestly there are 1-2 of them every week on the side of the rd ran over. We are in their territory and have built streets in the middle of wilderness. The poor deers don't know how to cross and get hit. It breaks my heart.
The closest I came was with a whole family of them, mom, dad & 2 babies. It was dusk and they jumped on the street out of the blue. DD was 3 and in her car seat. I braked at the last minute. DD says "Bambi, Bambi". And I'm thinking last thing I need is to kill Bambi in front of DD.

I wish I could have a cat but unfortunately, they make my eyes itch and my chest wheeze. They are so much easier to care for than a doggie. But I love my doggie so that works. I'm actually also allergic to doggies but mine don't seem to bother me. Don't know why but kitty cats are catastrophically bad for my health. My daughter has a cat and she has to shower my grandchildren etc before I get them or spend time with them.

Biggest Goal: To Be Healthy in everything I do!!! To make healthy choices always!!! To just embrace HEALTH each and every day for the rest of my Life!!!
Good morning menu friends! Miss Lily and I have already pranced around snd through the buildings at the Iroquois County fairgrounds in Illinois for an hour. Now we sit and wait for our noon meeting. How fun! After the meeting we'll drive back to Chatham(21/2 hours) where we work for a week as volunteer coordinators. And we'll stop at Walmart so I can pick up a pair of size 10 knitting needles because yes I left home with all my yarn and only 1 knitting needle. Apparently it fell out of my bag somewhere in the process of getting it in the camper. Its the only thing I seem to have forgotten though so that's not too bad. Accountability food wise great but didn't get steps in due to travel and weather. Weight today 123.4 so still headed closer to 120. QOTD with all our volunteering we do a lot for others and try to be kind and spread light. Hubby is famous for quietly paying the restaurant tab for military or police officers. Just a special way to say thanks for their service. Heres food for today B1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter L 2 protein pancakes with sugar free syrup D if I cook 4 oz burger patty with cheese but depending on whether we're on the road we may pick something up S if needed pork rinds 2 oz with 1 T salsa. Have a great day full of smart and conscious choices!
Yes, you really do alot of volunteering and that is SO wonderful! I do like the idea of quietly paying for someone's meal too!

Nothing worse than missing a knitting needle! I have a bag where I carry my knitting stuff when I have to be waiting around a lot. It has happened to me that I was missing the scissors or a marker and it drove me crazy. I've taken my bag on the flights too. It's the ultimate luxury for me to be able to knit/crochet for 7-8 hrs while listening to my book, without feeling guilty. Because what else are you gonna do on a long flight?

Mornin'!
It's actually sunny out there this morning! YAY!! I think it's supposed to cloud up later on today, but not much rain in the forecast. Great!!
I'm going to a program on immigration this morning, heading to the grocery store, dropping something off at UPS, and then sitting around waiting for DH's new laptop to arrive. Taking an elderly friend to an art showing this evening. I'm hoping to meet a friend for coffee this afternoon, but that's only if the laptop arrives early - we've never had issues with package thieves, but I don't want a laptop to be my first experience..
QOTD: I was thinking after reading this that I really need to do more, but then I kept the grad student from Turkey propped up for six weeks (including letting him stay at our house for much of that), and I'm taking this friend to the art show tonight. She LOVES art but she doesn't drive, and her husband passed seven years ago. She occasionally emails me wondering if I'd be interested in this or that art show. Sometimes I am, sometimes I'm not, but I take her anyway because I know she really wants to go.
Accountability wasn't horrible yesterday but it could have been better. I had instant miso soup last night to kill the cravings - it worked, but my weight was up two pounds this morning due to all the sodium (although that's the point - between the fluid and all the sodium in that stuff, it makes me feel really bloated - which keeps me from eating!!!)
3 years 10 months out:
B: homemade coconut Greek yogurt with 1/3 mango, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: whipped and sweetened cottage cheese with raspberries. Maybe over 1/3 C protein oatmeal.
AS: light yogurt with tahini mixed in - or a piece of protein pumpkin pie
D: pulled pork
have a great day, all!
I thought you were a SAINT hosting the Turkish student for that long. I wasn't even there and I was getting antsy.
