What's on your Sunday menu, RNYers?

Well it's Sunday folks and a new day on this journey.

Yesterday was pretty hectic with lots of driving in heavy traffic and family stress followed by 2 hours of study at the library. I did well with the food--ham, scrambled eggs, 1/2 cup of plain oatmeal & later a 2 x 3" pieces of banana bread.

Today we are running errands early and then I need to crack down on the studying again. Exam day is marching on!

Edited to add a QOTD: If your close friends and family are obese and/or unhealthy, do you share what you've learned on your weight loss journey with them or encourage them to make changes? I spent the morning with my Mom and family and most of the family SMO, including the teens. They have health issues, including diabetes, that are caused or made worse by their weight, sedentary life and diet. Part of me would love to encourage them to make changes for their health but I know they aren't either interested or prepared to make changes, so I just do my own thing and only discuss my journey when they directly ask.

Menu:

B: coffee thus far, followed by leftover ham

S: protein shake

L: probably TJ's chicken sausages, baby carrots

S: Chomps at the library

D: pork chops & a green veg

S: Cottage cheese with raspberries, blackberries & slivered almonds

Have a great day everyone!

It was a brisk one as it's only 38 here this morning. We got it done though and it feels great to mark that off the"to do" list.

Good morning from snowy Chicago. Not only did the snow not melt, but it actually froze solid and I had to get out my car scraper and scrape the crusted, frozen, snow off my windshields and then do a second round of scraping in order to get the ice that was underneath the frozen snow off of the glass. But the reward for that was coffee!

We are going to the Avengers showing at 10:30. Marilyn said that she has read a strategy for making bathroom breaks because I think the movie is 3 plus hours long.

54 Burpees.

QOTD: I don't have a lot of obese friends that I can think of. (probably more to do with being introverted than with the beautiful people seeking me out for friendship, LOL) I have told my family about my surgery and would support them in any way they wanted. I would say that both of my sisters do better at managing their weight than I did. Overall, I agree that you can't make people change. Its hard enough to make ourselves change and we are 100% invested in the process.

Breakfast: Protein bar

Lunch: Chicken

Snack: Light and fit with granola

Dinner: leftover lamb

Have a great day, all.

Hello Menuers,

I was up and out the door early to get tot he market because I don't like crowds and I was going to the Giant for ever roast chicken and the deli line is the worst! I was back home and cooking breakfast by 8:30. I have been working on my plan to get the last ten pounds off and it started at the market this morning. More on that later.

We didn't plant yesterday because of the dang wind and this morning it rained again so planting will have to happen tomorrow after working because we are going to my niece's graduation party this afternoon.

B: egg with a piece of bacon

L: leftover meatloaf with asparagus and sweet potato

D: will be eating at the party

120+ ounces of water or crystal light and all vitamins

Have a great Sunday!

Hi All!

I hung around with my cousin in the Chicago suburbs until around noon, when I felt the roads were OK enough to drive home. Tonight we're going to Turkish Cultural Night on campus - the guy who stayed with us for a few weeks this winter will be one of the dancers, and he really wants us to come (odd since he pretty much dumped us after he started meeting other Turkish grad students, but whatever...)

This week I have to really get back to basics because I ate a WAY too many restaurants the last couple of weeks. Luckily, I have a long stretch of nothing coming up...

QOTD: the only other obese person in my family is my sister, but I'd never say anything. She's lost 70 lbs the last few months on Weigh****chers, though, so I'm proud of her

3 years 10 months out:

B1: plain Greek yogurt, protein shake

Brunch: "healthy scrambler" (at a restaurant) - made of egg whites, cheese, chicken sausage, and veggies. Cup of fruit

AS: protein bar, Carbmaster yogurt with raspberries, 2 protein powder/peanut butter balls

D: I'll eat something at Turkish night, but hopefully not much because my calories are already getting up there..
