By the time I get a chance to post yin's have posted and are all off doing your day. I'm a hit the ground running kinda person. I try to get everything done before I get to my phone. However the QOTD intrigued me so I thought I'd chime in.

My first job at 14 I worked for a family friends Laundry and I folded the local high school teams uniforms for the next weeks big games. I have stocked shelves for a paper company during the winter months through high school but Lifeguarded in the summer all 4 years of high school. Worked in produce dept of local grocery then while going to beauty school I waited tables and bartender. After beauty school I worked and managed a few salons and I also worked styling wigs at one point. Beauty school was bought by a teacher there who convinced me to come teach. And for the last 22 years I have sold disposable medical supplies nationally. I sell stuff you use in nursing home home health and hospitals and you throw it away. Like ostomy wound care urological needles syringes. But I got to be honest retirement sounds good to me. I got 11 more years so it's only wishful thinking.

I worked in hospitals since I was 16. I liked it and just stayed there until I retired.

I'm eating Costco chicken, a latte, and some chicken fajitas. Also a banana. The last one. I bought 3 pounds 2 days ago. I think my son is on an all banana diet.

My picture is the "fancy" dessert I brought for Easter. No temptation to eat this.

Today wasn't the best day for me. It started out ok. Had my premier shake for breakfast and then some nuts for snack. Lunch is when it started to go downhill. I had a salad with some leftover steak on top. Well apparently the steak had gone bad so I couldn't even eat it. Luckily I wasn't very hungry after eating those nuts earlier. Had some laughing cow cheese for my afternoon snack and now for dinner I'm going to eat my leftover baked chicken breast and probably a side of salad. What really made it hard today though was that it was 2 of my coworkers birthdays today so they had cake, ice cream, cupcakes, chocolate candy, more ice cream and chips and dip. I was good though and had none of it even though my supervisor tried talking me into a very thin slice of cake. It's just rough when there are temptations all around you. Ugh!

Anyway it's Friday and that means I get the next two days off so all is well!

This is my cat Chester by the way.

Hopefully avoiding temptation gets easier for you. In my early post op years if was rough. But I managed. I also learned that have a bite of sweets here and there made my body more accustomed to sweets and over time I could tolerate more. That was really bad. So - may I advise you - don't do that, please? Because the sweet monster just waits to be woken up. I know some post op RNY who can eat sweets, ice creams, and candy bars. And they initially lost weight, only to regain all of it back plus some extra pounds.

Yes, a bite here and there can make a difference. But now, .I really don't get tempted by most cakes or candies. And the very few I have no will power over - are banned from our house, and if they find a way, they often leave as fast as they came.
