Mornin' All!
I don't know if all of you saw this yesterday, but my plastic surgeon's office finally got back to me. He didn't like all the red in that one area that I thought might look infected (I'd texted them pictures), so they called in an antibiotic to Walgreens up here. The wonders of modern technology! So hopefully I'm on the mend. These stupid incisions were driving me nuts yesterday, though - itching and burning - I couldn't even stand having clothes near it, let alone binders or compression garments or even a sports bra, so I wore this tent-like dress all day. I think it's just the nerves regenerating. I don't remember this sensation with my LBL, but then, that area was numb (and still is in some places). Oddly, I don't seem to have any numbness with this phase - but that's probably a good thing!
I'm off to Chicago later on this morning. I'm staying with one of my cousins (actually, third cousin) tonight who lives out in 'burbs, then we'll head in to the city tomorrow morning to meet up with another cousin, who'll be teaching a class on some sort of genealogy topic (these two are HUGE genealogy fans - and I've played around with it off and on for a couple of years - in fact, I met these two through DNA testing). I meet up with them two or three times a year, and it's always a good time.
accountability wasn't that great yesterday because of dinner out, and it might be a challenge this weekend, too, with being away from home, but I'll do what I can. Weight is stable at least. For now.
3 years 10 months out:
B: protein pancakes with plain Greek yogurt and blueberry/blackberry compote, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: I'll be on the road. I may just eat a protein bar.
D: we're having an early dinner. My cousin wants to go to one of those Chinese chain places where you pick your ingredients and they saute it for you while you wait. Her granddaughter works there. Hopefully they'll let me get just meat & veggies - I should be able to get two meals out of it.
have a good day, all!
Does Benedryl help the itching at all? My BL really itched badly and I couldn't just grab myself and scratch in public...LOL! I think arm pits would really itch badly though since it's a moist area.

Watch for any signs of yeast infection after that antibiotics. The itching can indicate healing , or yeast ... something like coloidal silver applied topically is the least irritating and I use if I am not sure if I deal with bacteria or yeast.
