Hope your tendonitis heals quickly with some rest. Curious,I've heard alot about using foam rollers (just bought one but haven't used it yet). Does that help with tendonitis or only fascial release?

I have a love hate relationship with my foam roller.

Rest up, trust me I know it's hard as I'm in the same boat. I have tendinopathy in one foot/ankle and the other hamstring/upper leg and knee.

Just wanted to jump in again with a question for you folks.

As I mentioned earlier, DW is on clear liquids today in prep for a colonoscopy. I'd like, since it's just short term, to stick to liquids the rest of the day (after my breakfast, which she got to have too) to not add to her temptation.

Do you ever do a "fasting" day or a liquid only day to reset? I know that there is alot of misinformation out there about "pouch resets" to shrink your stomach after regain...we all know it doesn't work. Also lots of talk about intermittent fasting and detoxing with tea and/or smoothies that I am really skeptical of. Just wondering if you ever choose to have a liquid only day either for your health or for some other reason.

I've wondered about this too. For several years I participated in a fast which lasted for four days and nights, water only, along with a pretty intense, quite physically taxing purification ritual on the first and second nights. It was a spiritual event, taking place at the summer solstice. The last time I went was 20+ years ago. I won't go this year, but one of these years I might make the trek back to the east coast for it. Just not sure how I'd do with it given my altered physiology, and also not sure how I'd do with the ritual within the ritual.

not since WLS. I was always afraid it would trigger a binge, but then, I don't know that for sure..

I have done IF but most of my hours were when I slept. I'm interested in everyone's response.

Intermittent Fasting (IF) is a great way to reset (not necessary the pouch) but for health reasons. It's also not just liquids. Great books I can recommend are :

The Obesity Code by Dr Jason Fung

The complete guide to fasting by Jason Fung

He claims he can reverse diabetes. There are also a couple of documentaries on Amazon Prime about fasting and all the research that has gone into it. They are seeing cancer patients who fast while undergoing chemo do better than those who don't fast. If you read just one book get The Obesity Code.
