Hi Everyone! Long time no see... I'll update ya!

Hope everyone that I know is doing well! I've been absent for a long time now, but I do think about this board, and I've directed several folks here over the months now!

I'm doing great! Soooo many changes in my life over the months though...

Let's see... I got a very nice promotion at work. That happened back in October, just two weeks before I closed on the little old farmhouse I bought, and just two weeks before I left my husband.

Work is going very well, but working in the energy industry is full of ups and downs, and sometimes that gets hard to deal with. But as far as me and my department, I think we're pretty safe at this point with this downturn. I pray that continues to be so.

Yes... I left my husband. Another one with weight loss surgery and a divorce. And as with most of the people that say they put up with too much most likely because of their weight and low self esteem, that is probably exactly where I fall as well. He loved me, but he treated me and my kids with no respect. His own transition was taxing on him and then when we added my weight loss surgery and I couldn't take it anymore.

Because I'm a Realtor on the side, I started looking back in May of last year, but nothing was coming up in the area I wanted that I could have even possibly afforded on my old salary... then on September 1, this house came on the market. A little (116yo) OLD farmhouse on one acre... in my price range AND I could bring the chickens! (We had already moved the horses to a friend's house)... I was scared to death and literally sat on the floor of this empty house when I went to see it and cried (Being a Realtor I thankfully got to see it alone Hahaha). I called the listing Realtor and found out there was already an offer on the table and I had to make my offer THAT DAY (the house was on the market for 5 hours). I got home, grabbed my computer and put in an offer. I still hadn't told husband I was leaving... That night the Realtor texted me to tell me they accepted the other offer. I was crushed but had decided it wasn't meant to be. Two days later I talked to husband and told him I wanted a divorce. I told him about the house I tried to get, and I cried. A lot. I went to my daughter's room (she was getting ready to move out in a month) and was honest with her, told her about the request for a divorce and told her about the house I didn't get. Literally 5 minutes later I got another text from the listing agent that the other deal fell through, and if I wanted it, it was mine!

I moved in on closing day... October 12th, and immediately found peace. I was (am still) sad that things didn't work out with my spouse, but when I'm honest with myself, I probably never should have married that person. While he has many great parts, we weren't great together.

I am dating someone new, and taking it very slowly. I don't trust my 'picker' being that my last two marriages were to people that I really had no business marrying. Plus she lives in Tulsa, which is almost two hours away, so this makes it perfect because I have plenty of my own time to heal, grow and figure out who the heck I am inside anyway. My kids are very happy, and the strange thing is that my now ex has actually been much nicer and supportive of both of them. He's still in their lives, and that's good for both of them.

I'm doing well with my post weight-loss life. I have gained about 5 pounds, and am sitting around 144-146. I don't like it, but apparently not enough to get on it and lose it! Damnit. I do well, and then when the scale doesn't immediately respond, I seem to lose steam. So... as I'm sure every newbie on here has read time and time again... The further out from surgery, the harder it is to lose any regain! LOSE IT ALL AS FAST AS YOU CAN AND GET INTO A GOOD HEALTHY ROUTINE! LOL

So there's my 'book' update on me, and I can't say I'll be here everyday again, but I really should try to come in more often. I could use the support, and I do miss the friends I made on here!

Welcome back!

Such great news about the new home. Also congrats for having the courage to get rid of "dead" weight.

Looking forward to seeing you around more often. I remember you when I joined OH, and you were/are always upbeat and positive.
