Mornin' All! And back atcha with National Library Week greetings, Janet!

I got a lot done yesterday and did well with eating to boot. Tonight we have dinner out with the speakers for my civic organization's meeting (the meeting is tomorrow morning). I also want to run by the medical lab - my PCP wants my vitamin D level tested before I have my annual Reclast infusion (for osteoporosis). I'm not sure they can do a blood draw with my upper arms still as mess from surgery, but we'll see. Maybe they can put that tourniquet thing near my elbow instead. Other than that...??? Not much going on right now.

QOTD: I don't read as many books as you would think, being a librarian. I read constantly, however (usually articles online). When I was working, there were times of the year when I'd spend huge chunks of the workday reading book reviews, since one of my responsibilities was buying books for the library (I was in charge of political science, law, world history, social science, and computer books - i.e., TONS!) - so I was familiar with lots of nonfiction books, even though I didn't actually read them (although I have stacks & stacks of them around our bedroom - books I read the reviews for and was intrigued - but it'd take me months to read all of these!). When left to my own devices, I usually go for non-fiction, although I do enjoy fiction when I read it. I put myself on a literary awards committee for four years once to FORCE myself to read fiction, and I really liked it (the committee AND the books!). When reading something book-length, I prefer print. Reading digital things bothers me after awhile, although articles I can handle.

3 years 10 months out:

B: homemade coconut Greek yogurt with 1/3 mango, coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake

L: the last of the rotisserie chicken (c. 2 oz) with zoodles

AS: light yogurt with raspberries

D: we're going to one of those places that has mostly breakfast items all day. I'm not crazy about a lot of breakfast foods (and many of them are too high-carb for me), so I'm thinking either the huevos rancheros or the turkey/bacon/avocado sandwich (they do have a few sandwich choices in addition to the breakfast items)

have a good day, all!

Good morning and happy Friday....although I have so much complicated family stuff this weekend, it's a rare weekend that I'm looking forward to being over. Families can be complicated, am I right?

Janet, love the picture of you and the lamb...and who knew lambs and lattes were a thing?!

QOTD - can I just say yes?

Between books (print and ebook) and audible, I average about 140 books a year; I'm a very active user of my library system; I'm there at least once a week and I take advantage of their ebooks too.

I probably read 6-10 books for work/personal development a year...usually around leadership capabilities I want to develop or about developing others; the rest is a mix of non-fiction (history and bios), fantasy and mystery/suspense. I will read anything that catches my eye, though, I am the furthest from a genre snob when it comes to reading.

On the flip side, if I start reading something and it doesn't hold my interest, I will give up and move on. I have too many things to read to read something I'm not enjoying!

Menu

B- 4 oz ever roast deli chicken, 1 slice of cheese, warmed in the microwave

L - cin raisin cottage cheese

D - tbd, I'm supposed to meet an old friend for dinner but we didn't do a good job of planning so not sure if it will happen

S - L&F greek, frozen (toasted marshmallow, yum)

Have a fantastic friday and wonderful weekend all!

In the spirit of the QOTD, the first picture is my one wall of my living room, with 3 of the bookcases in my house, lol and the 2nd is a picture from Iceland that I'm thinking of having made into a canvas or tapestry print but haven't quite decided.
