What's on your Saturday menu, RNYers?
Yikes - where is everyone this morning? I'll start this because of my obsessive need to post every morning!!
My surgical tape-related rash looks about the same again this morning, so I'm leaning toward going back to Chicago tomorrow afternoon to see the surgeon Monday morning. If nothing else, for peace of mind. The incisions in and around my arm pits look pretty angry - not sure if it's infection or just friction. Better to find out for sure...
Accountability - I went over my calorie limit yesterday by a couple hundred, but my weight was down again this morning. This may be the tail end of water weight from the fluids I had in the hospital last weekend.
anyone have a QOTD?
3 years 10 months out:
B: 3 protein pumpkin pancakes topped with plain Greek yogurt and homemade apple/cinnamon compote, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: 2 oz rotisserie chicken and 2 T hummus on a Flat Out wrap
AS: light yogurt
D: turkey chili
ES: light yogurt
have a good day, all!
Yes, it is almost the end of the morning on the east coast! It is good that you are going to check in with your doctor Monday. Better safe than sorry!
We saw another friend off to the north yesterday. At least 2-3 are leaving each week. We aren't the last but close to it on 5/19.
QOTD: What is your favorite thing to eat to clobber carb cravings? Mine is cottage cheese with most any protein as you can probably guess based on my menus. I wouldn't mind finding something else as I'm working on losing my 15 pound regain.
Accountability: Great on day 5 of being on the meal plan wagon
3 year post-op - post maintenance, trying to lose regain.
Always lots of coffee...
B: Eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
L: possibly an IP egg bake if I make it - chicken otherwise
D: Taco stuffed pepper
S: cottage cheese

QOTD: to stop cravings, I go for something with high protein, healthy fat, or high fiber (or some combo of the three). For example: TJ's High Fiber Cereal, these little chocolate protein powder/peanut butter balls I always have in my freezer, a T of tahini mixed in with L&F yogurt, homemade cottage cheese whipped in the blender with artificial sweetener & unsweetened cocoa powder.....
Morning RNY'ers! This morning we had to be up and out early for the Hot Chocolate 5k. I did this one with my son, his first 5k. Let me state- I absolutely prefer to run alone. Ugh- I hate the distraction. Then I finally qualified for the first corral (a), but I chose to stay back to his corral (d) and the little punk took off and left me. I know for next time. We caught up to each other though cause he used up to much energy to start. Pics below...
today I'm heading to formal wear shop for his formal next month. Possibly sneaker shop to. Them hubby and I need to finalize taxes, and a place to stay for our trip in June. I also need to put in another 3.4 miles to meet my normal Saturday run mileage. Weather will be nice so I'm waiting till later.
Qotd: I never thought about what I eat to combat carbs... that's always been a cold turkey approach. When I get to heavy into candy I try to swing back to fruit-- I've been buying s.f. Fruit cups and enjoying them. I detest cottage cheese with every fiber of my being. It's total ptsd for me- forced diets in my youth-- gag me.
218 today (wtf?? A totally wild swing up), 3.11 years out
m1: chic fil egg white grill, minus 1/2 the English muffins, banana and hot cocoa
m2: left over salad with grilled chicken
m3:?
M4: fish-- maybe

Those are great memories your son will have. How funny he did that to his mama who stayed to be with him but ended up learning a lesson about pacing himself lol. I have an older teen son too. Is your son in sports? My son has recently put on weight and is not athletic so I'm trying to think of gentle ways to stop this without making it an issue iykwim. You two look great. So happy.
This son is into sports but isn't involved in any at the moment. He does want to do track in high school next year. I'm sure he'll try out for everything he can.
My older son has zero interest in sports. He is tall and skinny, I like to think me taking the total opposite approach than my mom did with me (not berating them, forcing diets or exercise) is what's helped both of my boys maintain a stable healthy weight. And of course- leading by example. My older biked to work last summer and was inclined to keep biking for leg strength. And they both take public transit to school, So sometimes cir****tance will force some level of activity.

Hi
sorry I have been MIA. Trying to figure out what my new schedule looks like being unemployed. It's been 4 days and I have accomplished a lot already.
Acid or something has been up and poop has been crazy off. So forcing myself to eat at this time. Deciding what to do today besides going to gym. Need to do some work in the house and weed through clothes to sell.
Qotd: something with fiber usually works!
food for today:
coffee water
coffee
protein pancakes
veggies
notnsure what else since I'm really just not feeling it today.
Good morning, everybody. Up early but running around a little today. I went to a fairly early gym trip, got coffee, read my weekly financial newspaper, etc. Later on today I need to do a little shopping, prepare our income tax extensions and returns for my children and maybe go for a soak in the hot tub at the gym while my wife and son work out.
Trish, I am kind of obsessive about posting when I am home as well. Although I can't do it from my phone because we have apple password on our computer and I didn't write down what the password was.
32 Burpees.
QOTD: Filet Mignon with lots assault and salad with crumbled blue cheese. Certainly not low cal but filling for a long time and no carbs to speak of.
BreakFast: Bratwurst
Snack: Protein bar
Lunch: Ham and Cheese
Snack: Greek yogurt with Granola
Dinner: TBD
Have a great day, all.
