Whats on your (Photo) Friday menu, RNYers?
So that's what a snook looks like! We ate at a restaurant called Snook Haven once this year...

Mornin'!
I called the surgeon's office yesterday and told them the rash looks better than it did at the beginning of the week, but it's not completely gone. So now they want me to let them know (via voice mail) on Sunday if it's not a lot better by then, and then come on down to Chicago on Monday and they'll work me in. So....OK. I'm trying to line up a friend to go with me if I have to go down, since I haven't driven yet (I suspect I'll be OK driving by myself since I'm not in much pain and haven't taken any pain meds for the last couple of days, but I figured I should plan on bringing a friend along JUST IN CASE). The rash looks about the same today as it has the last two days, but we'll see what it looks like on Sunday. Other than that, not much going on in my life since I'm still in recovery. We did go meet my mom for lunch yesterday, though - it was nice to get out for an hour. Today I'd like to go find a compression shirt to wear. My arm pits keep rubbing up against the abdominal binder they gave me, which has really irritated them. I'm supposed to wear the binder for the first two weeks (and then switch to a compression shirt), but I'm not sure my arm pits are going to survive that long. Maybe I could switch between the two every few hours. The scars down my sides look fine and don't bother me at all. The ones in my arm pits hurt and look pretty angry. Too much friction, I'm guessing.
Accountability - I ate more than I intended yesterday due to the lunch out and then trying to work all my protein in (I'm shooting for 150 grams for the first few weeks post-surgery), but it wasn't over the top, so I'm OK with it. Today should be easier, though.
QOTD: our family birthdays are pretty much the same these days - we meet up with family who live in the area (my mother, sister, brother-in-law, and niece) at a restaurant for dinner and then have cake afterward. DH and I don't usually give each other gifts, but sometimes my sister gives the birthday person flowers.
3 years 10 months out:
B: Greek yogurt with fresh fruit (thanks, Janet!), coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: rotisserie chicken with 2 T hummus on a Flat Out wrap
AS: light yogurt
D: either leftover sushi or turkey chili
ES: light yogurt
This arrived yesterday from our own Janet! What a wonderful surprise - it totally made my day!!!!

Good morning everyone! I checked my work email before I got out of bed this morning and have been running ever since...that is such a rookie move...drink the coffee and then do the work, is the rule, lol. Love your shirt Janet!
QOTD - I don't make a big deal out of them but I do usually take a day off around my bday and do a spa day. One of my best friends has a birthday the same week so we'll also try to do a get together if it makes sense.
Today was supposed to be an easy work day but we'll see how that goes now; I do have an assisted stretch session this evening and my pilates club is having their official grand opening this weekend so I have a few classes set up (I've been going since their soft open about 6 weeks ago). I need to do some stuff around the house too. I'm already two loads into the laundry so yay for waking up at 3:30!
Menu today - coffee+ half and half and coffee plus PP; tea and water.
B - 4 oz ever roast deli chicken, .6 oz gruyere
L - left over meat/cheese casserole
D - keto coconut bread w/butter
S - L&F greek -- my current favorite is toasted marshmallow (frozen of course!)
Our video conferencing lets us set a virtual backdrop so I've been going through old pictures. Here's a puffin and landscape from Iceland!
Happy Friday and have a great weekend.

Good morning. Accountability was pretty good, but still not perfect. Rather than crap, I've been eating a cup of frozen mango. I'm not sure like the habit, but darn it's good. I actually like it better than any treat I could imagine at night. The dogs do like it as well.
QOTD - Birthdays aren't too big of a deal for me, but god help me if I don't make a big deal about my wife's ;)
I generally buy myself something I wouldn't normally buy, but want - nothing too expensive. I guess the big thing is we go out to a little nicer dinner at a slightly more expensive restaurant (like sushi, where I get a spicy sashimi salad - yummo)
Didn't workout this morning due to late hockey games on TV - love do or die playoff hockey, but will get to the gym after work (so no pre-workout snack)
B - 2/3 cup oatmeal with sprouted watermelon seeds; 1/2 a veggie omelette
L - 3.5 oz skewered Chicken and bbq sauce with a small salad
S - dried salami and 1 oz mustard cheese - it's different!
D - small salad, mustard/vinegar dressing as usual; 1/2 chicken burger
S - strive to skip!!!
Go Preds! I love that it's do or die Saturday for the Preds to win the division and home ice advantage against none other than the Blackhawks (my two favorite teams). And yes, I will be rooting for the Preds. How I'm dressed at the office - yes, lots of negative comments. Maybe it's not obvious from my profile info, but I live in the Chicago Suburbs.

G'morning Janet & Menu peeps!
Janet- Love your shirt. Happy you took care of you on your bday.
Still on the road. Today we are in San Clemente. No schools here but DH booked us here so that this morning I can stop by his buddy's home and pick up yet another surf board to take home. Supposedly there was a shaper in the area and DH ordered a surf board with him but there was no way to get it up to us. So this friend offered to pick it up. As I have said before we need another board like a hole in the head. But DH explained to me this famous shaper has a long line of requests and it was an honor to make one specifically for DH. In order for me to understand he said it's like if Valentino or Versace made a special bag just for me. So I'm supposed to be very careful with this board driving it home.
QOTD: we make a big deal with bdays, mine it anybody else's In the family. When kids were younger theme parties were the rage. When they got older they chose more low key parties to my disappointment. I always want to make a big deal. DS chose not to do anything for his 17th bday last month and it crushed me. We took him and a friend out to dinner and movies but the event planner in me was screaming and had so many ideas for a cool 17 year party. I'm always a sucker for parties and love to plan them.
Accountability : great.
Menu : on the road and up in the air.
I'll share some pics from my trip to DC.
This statue is called creepy George on the GW campus because DD says at night it looks like a real person sitting on the bench, when you come out of the library. Kids don't like it but I thought he was cute! :)
I am starting to like myself in pics so I'm not clicking delete on every pic. These two were taken when I wasn't expecting (so I wasn't posing) and I actually liked them.
Last but not least my precious DD whom I love to pieces.
Have a a great Friday and weekend, my friends.

You are so sweet, Jen! Thanks!
Now that I have lost weight more people notice that DD and I look alike. And I'm very proud of it.
