Vitamins will do nothing about protein deficiency. You may need to up your protein consumption with shakes if you can't eat enough. I need to get at least 120 grams of protein daily to keep my numbers up.
If your Bariatric Advantage multivitamin has both Calcium and Iron in it you are not absorbing the iron because calcium inhibits iron absorption. Iron needs to be taken alone, preferably on an empty stomach and at least 2 hours away from Calcium or any antacids, and don't take iron with tea or coffee, they inhibit absorption too.
Any good, adult formula, multivitamin will work, but remember that you have to take 2 per day (200% of recommended dosage)
Many RNY patients simple do not absorb oral iron well. Iron needs acid to break down. The part of the stomach that makes the most acid is what they cut away. Our remnant stomachs still make acid but it goes into the small intestines and iron tablets to not have time to breakdown and absorb. Also the majority of the vitamin absorption takes place at the duodenum and that area has been bypassed. You likely will have to have iron infusions periodically.
Edited to add: Heme Iron or Carbonyl Iron are the easiest to absorb and don't cause stomach distress and constipation. Any of the Ferrous Irons can cause constipation.
