gulping!
in the beginning stage, how did you conquer gulling? even though i am taking tiny sips, i still feel like i am gulping.
also, how far out did you start taking "larger" sips?
It's probably not ever recommended that you gulp. That being said, I can drink some fluids, mostly water as long as it isn't cold pretty quickly. I take a medicine that you have to drink at least 8 oz of water with it before you eat and so I do that 1st thing in the morning and so I learned to down water pretty quickly then. Probably 7 or 8 months out. Be careful though, if you get too enthusiastic, it will hurt. If you are hurting now, your sips are too big.

At more than one year post-op, many folks can drink pretty normally, gulps included. I can't speak to anyone else's doctor, but my surgeon said it wouldn't hurt anything as long as I was healed completely.

As long as your not uncomfortable or making yourself sick it should be fine. There is no exact science for every individual. You gotta do you. Most importantly get in the required amount of fluids any way you can. I'm a little over a year out and at 7 months I was able to drink a 20 oz sports bottle in 20-25 minutes ( the ride to work). Now that is routine. Good luck ? n your journey. You got this!!!
