What's on your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
on 4/2/19 8:33 am
Good morning~ The mayo prank would have made me HURL! It's only Tuesday... It's the beginning of the month and usually I'm pretty busy, but I am so caught up I'm looking for work to do! Not a bad problem to have but I prefer to be busy. Having my son home has been amazing. While he is still adjusting, I can't get over how much he has matured and how well he is handling everything overall. I'm just in awe incredibly proud of my kiddo
QOTD - We watch our local news and NBC nightly news every night. BBC America is usually on when I get home everyday. I see various headlines flipping through FB like the WA Post, NY Times and our local paper. I miss reading the actual paper cover to cover. I may have to revisit that if only on the weekends.

My mom has been a voracious newspaper reader for her entire life. My whole life, there was a basket filled with newspapers next to the comfy chair in the family room, and to this day, she reads it cover to cover. She is so knowledgeable on pretty much every topic, and I think her newspaper habit has really contributed to that!

So funny you mentioned that! My parents had a basket full of papers between their chairs! Both of them would read cover to cover, everyday and work on the the weekend crossword puzzle also. They were both crazy good at Jeopardy too. I imagine your mom is also!
I now have their newspaper basket (and the enormous crossword puzzle clipboard) and this last weekend was figuring out what to do with them. I need to get that subscription going and put them to use!

late late post for me!!
I'm at my new office AKA starbucks. I did have a job interview today but it is for a year contract position at a place. it could work but would need to workout the benefits issue. and it is a pay cut.
i need to leave here and go to the gym but I need to motivation at this time.
QOTD: i haven't been following news.
food for today:
i ate like a%#$#$@!##$ yesterday. toooo many calories and pretty much off the chain
so back on it today and feeling way better.
i think it was bad stress.
my severance packet also came today.
QOTD- I qui****ching news after 9/11. I swear I was going to lose my mind if I had to watch those buildings fall one more time. I'm much happier no****ching news, I do listen to NPR in the car and follow some people on Twitter. If it's something I really want to know about I'll search on the web.
Accountability was a bit off yesterday, half of an Einstein bagel somehow mad it into my mouth. I threw out the rest of it, so I wouldn't be tempted. I ended up with 939 calories, 73 protein, 23 fat, 116 carbs. So calories were OK, but the carbs were off.
After having almost a week of nice weather we are back to clouds and a little rain. I should have done the weed & feed before it rained. But then my grass would just grow more...
My surgery is scheduled for 5/8, I don't have a time yet. Somehow they had my insurance wrong and said that it wouldn't cover surgery at that location. So I gave her the right info and I think it should be OK. I'm not stressing over it, I pretty much know what to expect so it should be OK.
It turns out my Mom needs to have her aortic valve replaced. She had rheumatic fever as a child and has had a heart murmur ever since, but it has gotten much worse in the last year. She is stressing over having the central venous catheter placed, and worried about how long it will take. More worried about logistics than anything I think. Plus she isn't really wanting to have the valve replaced, but the doctor told her she is much better off doing it before it becomes an emergency. It will be OK, just one more thing on my plate.
Have a great Tuesday everyone!
