Good Day to all of you!

So many things going on here that it is impossible to get back here during the day. Please forgive me if I don't respond to any posts.

My April Fools prank on my 5th graders was awesome! There were lots of "she has lost her mind' looks and some gagging. Who knew? Oh, and not one 5th grader tried to prank me!

QOTD: How do you keep up with the news? I watch the morning news or rather it is on all morning until I get ready to walk out of the door and then we watch the evening news if we are in the house. So I keep up mostly with the television. We also get the local paper delivered, but that is mostly so we can give it to my MIL. I am not a huge techy but I do read some things online during the day if I get a minute.

Accountability: good but not great. I know I have said it before, but I would like to lose another 10 pounds. I also know that if I don't get my head in the game then it won't happen. Weight loss has come to a stop and I am guessing my 'window' of opportunity is nearly up. It's time for me to start doing the work that needs to be done.

TSS: 1 year and 3-months weight 163 pounds

B: overnight oats and a banana

S: hard boiled egg

L: Ever roast chicken and Buffalo chicken roll-ups (Boar's Head is the best!)

S: 1-ounce cheese and blackberries

D: chicken apple sausage with sauteed spinach and onion

Lots of water and all vitamins

Have a great one!

The picture is from the Great Mayo April Fool's Prank.

You can't measure your achievements with someone else's yardstick!

Good morning all! Back in the office after a week away. The stacks are high around my desk and several meetings on the calendar. It will be a busy day. Thinking of skipping a meeting to go for a walk though...still feeling rather burnt out and needing the exercise to help clear my head!

Long day too! I'll work an extra hour for some OT, then head to the gym to work out with my trainer (heavy day). Then at 7:00 we are doing a live (and recorded) video on the Bariatric Foodie site on FB! If you get a chance, log on and work out with us for a free cyber workout! You'll get to see what my trainer does and what I am training to do...

Accountability: not bad but need to up the protein a little more and keep pushing the water rather than coffee.

Menu:

B: coffee, DD turkey sausage wrap

S: Chomps

L: Subway chicken salad

S: Chomps, apple, protein shake

D: ?it will be late

Have a great day folks, and consider joining us tonight at 7 at Bariatric Foodie on FB.

Mornin' All!

Well now I seem to be having an allergic reaction to the surgical tape or adhesive that the surgeon used. I've been itchy the last couple of days, and I started breaking out in a rash yesterday morning (the surgeon noticed it - DH hadn't yet - although it got worse throughout the day, so now it's very noticeable). The surgeon put me on a six-day course of prednisolone. If it's not a lot better by Thursday, I have to go back down to Chicago to have him remove the tape. Ugh. Otherwise, I'm doing fine... Not much at all on the agenda this week - I purposely left this week open since I knew I'd be recuperating.

Accountability has been good - calorie level has been very good. I'm up 4 lbs from last week, but that would all be from the fluids I got at the hospital. One of my friends who's a retired physician said those fluid bags have a lot of sodium in them. I've been urinating like crazy the last couple of days, so I'm guessing I was probably up 10 lbs when I was released from the hospital on Saturday. So it's slowly coming off.. I'm still swollen, but I'm much better than I was in the hospital - I thought my skin would split from all the swelling!

QOTD: I have the BBC/NPR playing on my bedside radio most of the day (and all night at low-volume). We do have a print subscription to our local newspaper which DH reads every day, but I rarely read it - instead, I read articles from it online (digital access is free if you're a paper subscriber). I also have a digital subscription to the Washington Post. I usually check the news (online) in the morning when I get up - and then again before I go to bed.

3 years 9 months out:

B1: protein shake

B2: 3 protein pumpkin pancakes with a dollop of plain Greek yogurt and apple/cinnamon compote, coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake

L: rotisserie chicken on a Flat Out wrap

AS: probably a light yogurt

D: turkey chili

ES: same as AS

have a good day, all!

Good morning, everybody. We got the artists proof from the family painting that we sat for in December. Me and Marilyn are going to look at it closely this afternoon, but from what we have seen so far, it came out really nice. I wish that in real life they could paint away the saggy skin on my neck, the way that they did in the picture. When I look at the comparison of the the picture to portrait, my 20 year old daughter had very little editing and us parents had the most. Not surprising, I guess.

I left last nights game after the Jets went up 4-2. When I was in the mens room on the way out the referees overturned that goal making it 3-2 and then when I was in the parking lot, the Blackhawks scored to make it 3-3. So I missed a replay, game tieing goal and all of overtime in my rush to beat the traffic.

27 Burpees today.

Breakfast: Turkey meatballs and cottage cheese

Snack: Protein bar

Lunch: Catered Mexican - probably chicken

Snack: Nuts

Dinner: TBD

Have a great day, all.

Good morning all! Not my best morning ever - it started with a 7 am call with Germany and inexplicably, I am having an allergic reaction on my lower legs likely from the lotion or oil they used on my pedicure yesterday. Ugh. I am itching like crazy but I know if I take a Benadryl I will be conked out and I have a ton of work to do. So I guess I soldier on!

QOTD: I grew up in a house with the Today show on in the morning and it continues today! I DVR it and keep it on in the background for the first hour or so of my day. It's a great blend of fluff pieces and actual news. Kris teases me - he prefers to watch more "hard-hitting" news but honestly, these days the news makes my heart rate rise to the point of exploding. I can't stand the idiocy, the hate, the division, and the intolerance.

Time since surgery: 5 years, 3 months

B: 3 oz boars head ever roast (bethmal, I agree, it's sooooo good!) 2 oz havarti

L: a leftover crab cake! I only ate one (minus one bite) so I have a delicious lunch today

D: TBD, I am making fried fish for Kris and I may have shrimp (since he doesn't like shrimp) so he has leftover fish tomorrow when I head out of town

E: spin class! I love this class - the instructor has super high energy and most importantly, I love his music!

Have a fab day, everyone!

I have super sensitive skin and that used to happen to me all the time. I've scratch myself raw more times than I can count, especially in my sleep! Now, I put cortisone cream on my legs before and after getting a pedicure. It saves me from those reactions. Feel better!

My god do you use an entire tube? I feel like I would need a whole tube for my lower chunky legs! I was thinking that next time I will just bring my big Costco bottle of Aveeno body lotion and ask them to use it, or come home right after and take a shower. I also scratch my legs until they bleed! Ugh, why does this happen to us?
