OMG! Thank you so much for your wonderful ideas. I never would have thought about mustard, oil, or anything like that. That's why I like coming to this site when I have an issue going on. The pain is such that I am willing to try just about anything to keep it at bay. Thanks again.

Perhaps you are dehydrated...I have enough fluids in the morning, but tend to forget to drink in the afternoon!! - Today, I was out all day and walking...I had such severe cramping in my fingers, legs, toes --It lasted unusually long.. So I remembered that I didn't have enough to drink and immediately started to add fluids..it took about 45 minutes but I was relieved.. just an idea for you.

I would be surprised if I were dehydrated. I drink all day, throughout the day into the evening. I am very careful to get my fluids in. I drink at least 100 oz. plus a day of fluids. I don't drink any pop or drinks with sugar in them either.

I can highly recommend Calcium capsules. I and my husband have had leg cramps, only

relieved by increased calcium. Take 1500 mg for relief.

I think I may be okay for my calcium intake. I do get about the 1500 that you take. I like that my bones are not brittle and that I can still run. I know it's because I am not carrying so much weight and the fact that I take my supplements.

There have been some great posts here about magnesium and potassium and whatnot. One other thing you may not have considered, but have you tried compression socks? I had TERRIBLE leg cramps when I was pregnant, probably due to minerals and such being wonky, and got very good relief from knee-high compression socks. You can get all sorts of cute designs on Amazon, I have a pair with cactuses and another pair with puppies.

You can also look into compression sleeves for just your legs if the socks make your feet uncomfortable. They're just tubes of elastic that you pull up to the knees, I think I paid ten dollars for a pair. I wear them when exercising and they seem to help prevent the cramps in the first place.

Compression socks could be a good idea. I would probably enjoy compression socks. I'll look into that. As I stated earlier, I am willing to try a number of things to stop the cramping they it happens and also to prevent the cramping. For starters, I went ahead and got myself some magnesium citrate. The only complaint that I have is the pills are so huge! They are beyond horse pills. OMG they are so big I have to cut them in half.
