buyers remorse.
It has been a year since surgery for me later this month. I find it hard to remember how I felt afterwards except I couldn't wait to be able to get off liquids only. I am down 100 plus lbs now and would not have accomplished this any other way. My health is better than it has been in 30 years. It is entirely normal to second guess yourself especially since it is so soon after the surgery. Give yourself some time to see the changes it makes in your body and your life. I have every belief you will not regret it over time. Just look around you at all the overweight people who are not making the changes you are and be proud of your decision to take on the obesity problem. It will get a whole lot better.
I'm pretty sure everyone has been there. First words to my husband the day of surgery was why did you let me do this. But now I'm so happy I did it! I was diabetic, had sleep apnea, hypertension, Nash syndrome, high cholesterol and so much more wrong with me. I'm 29 and off all medications except vitamins! Just keep pushing on!

It will get much, much better. Just do your best to walk even though it's hard. If nothing else, set a timer and walk for 5 minutes at the beginning of every hour. I know it doesn't seem like it's helping but it will. Just give it time. Your body has had a major shock. Your insides are a lot different and your body has to adjust to those changes. Praying the recovery goes better and better each day.

I felt the same way after my surgery. The gas pains and bloating were the worst. It took me about a week to feel normal again. I had to make sure to stop any of the pain meds as soon as I left the hospital so they didn't constipate me further, and I drank Milk of Magnesium for days until finally things started to settle for me.
Feeling the way you are feeling is totally normal. It will definitely subside. This surgery was the best thing I ever did. Just be patient.

I had surgery last Monday, so I am just coming up on a week out, and I have had quite a lot of regrets too. I envy you the diarrhea, I have been fighting constipation. Physically, I am actually starting to feel a lot better. Tonight I was able to take for my dog for a rainy mile walk which I really think was good for me. I think if I can survive another week of liquids things may start to look up, I'm just so sick of the same things. I'm sending positive thoughts your way. I'm pretty sure things have to improve.
i am just over 6 weeks out and the pain was pretty horrible. I will say it was a little better with each day. By the 8th day is when i felt the best. I had a little buyers remorse when i was in the hospital not being able to lift myself up in bed. I was too embarrassed to use the call button and ask for help. but that was the only time i regretted the surgery. I would say its great you have had diarrhea, it took me 5 days to poop after surgery. It gets better..Just do what your doctors told you to do..and walk as much as you can. you don't wanna develop blood clots!
