What's on your Wednesday menu,RNYers?
Good morning menu friends! Chilly here today in the cornfields of Illinois but as soon as it's a bit lighter Lily and I will take a short walk. We'll also do another at lunch and a longer walk when we get off at work--whether I feel like it or not! Accountability yesterday was good food and stepwise. I substituted a breaktime snack for my bedtime one again and it worked out well. Steps were 10,247 and weight was 124.6 today. Heres the food for today B2/3 c earnest eats protein hot cereal L2/3c white chicken chili D cali omelet(half of it) S apple slices with 1 T peanut butter. QOTD what is your favorite thing about losing your weight? Mine is being able to be on my feet, working hard all day and still having the energy to walk 3 miles with Lily later. That never would have happened before surgery! Have a great day all full of smart and conscious choices!
Thanks for getting us started Karen.
I feel like I am cheating if I don't check in here every day! DH got home from Vegas super late/early Tuesday morning and of course, he woke me up and I had a terrible time falling back to sleep. I was so tired yesterday I felt sick to my stomach all day. Yuck. We took Max to his first vet appointment and she said everything looked great. She thinks he is between 1-2 and not 3 years old which is fine with us!
QOTD: I would sleep until my body naturally woke up, drink lots of coffee and get things done around the house. It's almost camping season so I would spend some time cleaning and getting the camper ready for the season.
Accountability: good but not great - I didn't have a good plan yesterday because I was so tired.
TSS: 1 year and 3 months ~ weight 162
B: the last of the ever roast chicken and a slice of cheese
S: PP chocolate shake and blackberries
L: ground beef/pork mixture with tomatoes and onions and a sprinkle of cheese
S: mandarin orange
D: more of the ground beef/pork mixture with tomatoes and onions and a sprinkle of cheese
All vitamins and 120+ ounces of water
E: running around with Max and taking him for a walk after school - and I AM going to start planks again
You can't measure your achievements with someone else's yardstick!

Mornin'!
well tomorrow we head off to Chicago for phase 2 of my plastic surgery (which is scheduled for Friday). I'm feeling both excited and anxious - but in either case, I'll be glad to have this behind me! I've been really plowing through my to-do list the last few days and have almost everything done that I wanted to get done before surgery, so at least I'm feeling relieved about that! This morning I'll be dropping one of the cats off at a friend's house, going to my Russian history class, and meeting a friend later for my wonderful meditation class, which I'm really going to miss since I'm suspending my yoga studio membership for about a month while I recuperate (I probably won't be cleared for exercise for 4-6 weeks, so why pay for that month?). I have to finish up a handful of tasks for a couple of organizations I belong to, but I should be able to knock that out today....
QOTD: not sticking out - and being able to do pretty much everything normal people can do! Also, not being in pain all the time.
Accountability - I was on target yesterday, but I'm up a pound this morning. Might be the "bad" couple of days finally catching up with me - or it could be water. At any rate, I'm not going to worry about it. My life is about to be upended for a few days (surgery) and my food routine disrupted to boot. I usually don't eat much the first few days after a major surgery, so this will all balance out. At any rate, I WILL watch it today and tomorrow!!
3 years 9 months out:
B: coffee with half & half, pumpkin protein pancakes with plain Greek yogurt and apple/cinnamon compote (no sugar added)
MS: pumpkin latte protein shake
L: whipped sweetened cottage cheese - or maybe L&F creme brulee over protein oatmeal
AS: light yogurt and/or raw veggies dipped in 2 T hummus or ranch Greek yogurt
D: shredded chicken in walnut sauce
ES: same as AS
have a great day, all!
Good Morning Karen & Menu Family!
QOTD: My favorite thing about losing weight: Hard to pick just one thing but I think it would have to be improved health.
Accountability: I ate too many calories yesterday. I seemed to be hungry all day long! Protein- 109, Calories - 1,420, Carbs - 189.
B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt, banana
L: goulash, banana
D: microwave meal, light & fit Greek yogurt
S: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt
Have a great day everyone!

Good morning. Accountability - snacking continues to improve, so I'm very happy. Though work has been crazy and activating those eating/stress response behaviors. Lots of talking me out of bad food yesterday, but mostly won out. Exactly 4 weeks to skin surgery, so my big push to get under goal starts now. I decided if I get there in 3 weeks I can get my Sonos speaker (which I'd like to listen to while I recover and read all the books I've been wanting to finish and start. I also want to check out Game of Thrones. Yes, never watched an episode).
QOTD - Best thing. Kids don't star at me and either ask questions or make fun of me. I was always fearful to walk into a room full of kids. I've had some brutal experiences, as I'm sure some of you have had. One that comes to mind was when I was at SeaWorld about 30 years ago at one of the big shows in a stadium. A 7 year old was behind me and he was probably the worst behaved kid I ever experienced. He just couldn't stop with the fat jokes and kicking me in the back, etc. When I asked his parents to please get him to stop, the father joined in the berating. It was just a bad experience that continued until I finally exited the event (even while walking out). The mother quietly apologized to me and the father told her that I was getting was I deserved. Really!
B - 1/4 cup oatmeal, a few berries and 2 tbs peanut butter protein powder
S - 4 oz Fage with 1 oz nuts
L - 4 oz chicken, small salad and small pear
S - Small apple with nut butter
D - Spaghetti squash and some chicken/low sugar pasta sauce
S - SF Popsicle

Kids can be cruel but its worse when the parents encourage it, this is how bullying gets out of hand and it makes me so MAD and so sad.
I think we have all experienced this kind of shaming and embarrassment at some point, but it hurts to remember it and it hurts to hear about it from another's perspective. I am so happy that you don't have to deal with these comments anymore but it's awful that any of us had to deal with them to begin with.
