G'morning Jen & Menu peeps!
Great weekend! Did my 10K on Sat. I love this special race, She is beautiful, mostly women and so so supportive. You see wen from all shapes and form and throughout the whole thing you just hear compliments and encouragement. Most people wear pink, some wear tutus and tiaras. With my friends we decided next year we will wear all black but with bright glittery pink tutus and pink head gear. So that's next year. I slacked off on the taxes and now I'm stressing bcz I gotta fit it in during the week.
QOTD: I'm like you Jen, my body was strong even at my heaviest. I was still training with my trainer even back then. But now my strength comes from my lightness. I feel everything is so easy. When step ups were hard and made me puff in the past now I do them with 20lb dumbbells in each hand. I am finally able to do real push ups, no longer on my knees, and that made me feel like superwoman!
My meals for the day:
- TONS of coffee and tea
- Carnitas (shredded pork in crockpot)
- Costco chicken skewers
- Yogurt & parm cheese
Have a great Mon, everyone.

I'm 20 months out. The first 6 months I didn't touch coffee. Nowadays I will have one caffeinated and the rest of the day decaf. My teas are all herbal.

Every plan is different.
I couldn't have caffeine the first week and that first cup tasted better than any coffee before it, ever.
Between coffee and black tea, I probably get 30-40 oz of caffeine each day (out of my 100 plus oz).

there doesn't seem to be a consensus about this among surgeons. Some say never, some say right away, some make you wait three months...or six months. Some limit it to 1-2 cups a day. My take is that it probably isn't the most dangerous thing you can do, given the lack of consensus. I couldn't have any caffeinated coffee for the first six months (decaf was OK), and I'm supposed to limit caffeinated to 1-2 cups a day, but to be honest, I often have more than that. I did wait six months, though.

good morning everyone!
I had a wonderful weekend...got our taxes done on Friday night so that stress is gone, thankfully...we are actually getting some $$ back so it also lifts a little off my shoulders for some budgeting things.
Our Saturday at C2E2 was SO fun!! It kind of sucked getting there since SpotHero overbooked the parking garage we booked and we ended up looking for parking for about an hour...finally found a spot that was 2.4 miles away from McCormick and we ended up just walking (something we NEVER would have done before surgery). Story was a champ too, and walked about 70% of the time, and DH carried her on his shoulders the rest. She got to meet several Wonder women, Elasti-girl, bat man, Ariel, Spider man, and She-Ra! we saw so many cool costumes, I already can't wait to go again next year!
I'll post a couple of pics here even though it's not photo friday lol.
The walk back to the car was pretty brutal. We considered getting a cab back to the garage but we kept going and we made it...my knees were really sore but that was really the only thing, and I am pretty much back to normal today, which leads me to the ...
QOTD: I can WALK, go up stairs, keep going and pushing and not get tired...it's so nice. My fitness band said I walked over 17,000 steps on Saturday, so that was awesome!
Morning: Coffee w/ 1/4 Caramel PP
B: slice of low carb banana bread & 1/4C raspberries
L: parmesan Shrimp & Mixed veggies
AS: L&F greek yogurt
D: not sure yet--maybe BLT Lettuce wraps?
ES: possibly turkey & cheese
Pics from C2E2--I was dressed as Jessica Jones, DH was the Punisher and Story, of course, was Wonder Woman!
this pic in front of the Marvel Sign is my absolute favorite!
