What's on your Friday menu RNY'ers?
Good morning. My accountability too was poor last night. Got home late from a hockey game and ate some candy that was on the counter that my wife had left out. I've given myself a new goal related to my skin surgery (4.5 weeks away), so that should be enough incentive to stop that cr.p Yes, I know - insanity is expecting things to be different and doing the same things over and over. Fingers crossed to this attempt at do vs. try ;)
QOTD - no real hard plans this weekend other than doing some doctor things tomorrow and hitting the Gym for boxing and bootcamp on Sunday. I did confirm plans to ride my 100th Peloton ride milestone at the Skokie store (they had invited me to do that as a special ride when I bought the bike from them around Thanksgiving - should be different and interesting).
Off this morning, so no PWO food. Planning on riding this afternoon if I can get out of work a little early today (after a very long week)
B - 2 eggs and small oatmeal 1/2 cup
S - 1/2 oz cheese and some Fage 4 oz
L - Small salad, 4 oz chicken
S - Apple and 1 oz cheese
D - Smoked chicken and small salad
S - popsicle
PS - went to the hockey game last night with a fellow RNYer I met at support group. He's 3.5 months out vs. my near 2.5 years. He was shocked at the volume of food I can eat (we went out to dinner). He's still eating only .5 cups in total (both veg and meat) and I'm at about .5 cups veg and 3 to 4 oz of meat. He also has to sip water slowly where I chugged a bottle of water in a few minutes during an intermission. I told him that I was at a very similar place at his time point of the journey. I also warned him not do follow some of my mistakes - like late night snacking on stupid carbs. For him, last night was his first time out in a restaurant. I could see he was a bit scared. I told him the only thing I worry about is dry food and eating too fast (getting stuck). He hadn't heard about that issue, so that was a topic for some time.

Morning and THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY!!!!! The weather in So. Cal. has been crazy. It's mid march and yesterday we had hail and thunderstorms. It's crazy. On the bright side, everything is green and beautiful and the wildflowers are growing like crazy.
Last night I helped a friend out. He teaches spin but is running the LA Marathon and he asked if I would ride on the instructor's bike for him so he could save his legs. He rode next to me for part of it, but I made it through the whole class with 30 pairs of eyes staring at me. It was an amazing, horrifying, exhilarating experience.
So I'll share my laugh for the week. Last week there was an invasion of butterflies migrating north from Mexico. I mean there were millions of them. A co-worker came into the office and was talking about the bat invasion through the park (our office butts up again a really large park/wooded area) and how he had to work fast to get his sunroof closed so they didn't fly into his car. 2 minutes later his assistant comes in all excited and talking about the butterflies and how she rolled the windows down so they could fly through her car. Yes, the bats were butterflies. The poor man will never live it down, particularly since we strung up a bat in his office. (See below)
QOTD: This weekend should be good. My boss' daughter is a screenwriter and she and her writing partner had a script selected for a live read. I'm going to take a friend of mine to that tomorrow night. Sunday is a friend's birthday, so we'll take spin class together and then I'll take her to lunch. Monday I have to go to San Francisco for work. Fingers will be crossed all weekend that the weather is better than last time and that I can get in and out without significant delay.
My Plan:
B: chicken thigh meat
L: I think a sub in a tub from Jersey Mike's
D: Not sure. I have a happy hour for a friend's last week at the firm, so I didn't take anything out. Maybe more chicken or fish
S: Latte and I'll likely nurse a glass of wine at the happy hour
You led a spin class???
I just walk past the class and I get scared from the instructor's voice and all the screaming.

Those are the best instructors ;) No seriously, they usually are the best. I sometimes ride on a day that the Yoga instructor also teaches spin as sub. She's such a sweet person but here is her instruction - example.
"Okay, let's add a little resistance and pick up the pace, but only if you feel up to it. This is your ride, so just breath and relax and enjoy it." You get to the end of the ride and your shirt isn't even sweaty. I like her, but I do try to avoid those days. :) The regular instructor is running around the room barking changes and correcting people's form. She's only on the bike about 40% of the time. She's great. You end up crawling out of the room afterwards.

I love the pup pics, Zoey looks so ferocious!
I've been struggling lately both foodwise and with life in general. I got the breast MRI approved through my insurance and got it moved from 4/4 to 3/28 so I don't have to wait so long. I have a consult with a plastic surgeon on 3/29 so I can find out what my options are for reconstructive surgery depending on what the results of the MRI are. I've been through two lumpectomies and radiation in 2007. I was concerned about losing my hair, probably seems silly but it's taken me 11 years to get it this long and I'm not sure I will have the time to do it again. But the surgeon says this form of cancer wouldn't require chemo. So I was happy to hear that, one good thing.
Contemplating your own mortality can take you to some strange places. And cause you to do things you wouldn't ordinarily do, but maybe I can push myself to be better.
Work has been insane as usual, things always change and never for the better. Adding more work to our already overloaded days. I'm looking for a new job, with benefits, 401K and PTO. I had one interview but they cancelled that opening, not sure if they just didn't get the person they wanted or what. I'll keep looking.
Have a great Friday everyone!

Hi everyone,
Great pics by all!!
The stomach bug is much better but I still have almost no appetite. I've only eaten 1 egg and and maybe 2oz of turkey and that took me about 7hrs to eat. I am hydrating really well though and plenty of electrolytes. I'm doing my best to keep my glucose level from dropping to low. I've dropped over 12 lbs in 3 days(not good!)
Enjoy the rest of your evening everybody.
