What's on your Friday menu RNY'ers?
Mornin'!
Doctor's appt later on this morning. Oddly, my weight is down to 148.8 this morning - after a pretty heavy eating week (for me at least). Three days at or near 2000 kcal (my normal limit to maintain is 1700). Not sure what's up with this. Maybe it's emptier-than-normal bowels? Who knows. I'll take it though - I was hoping I'd be under 150 for this appt (not that my PCP would care, but I do...). Lunch with a friend afterward. Dinner with a speaker for my organization's upcoming meeting. Otherwise, some free time when I can get some more items crossed off my to-do list. I want to get as much done as possible before I head off for surgery next week..
QOTD: tomorrow will be crazy - I'll be on the go between about 8:00 am and 10:00 pm. My organization's brunch meeting first (I'm a co-chair - I'll need to be there pretty early), then an afternoon get-together with the people I'll be going to India with (where we'll also get a ton of info about the trip), then a dinner & social event that's likely to last well into the evening. Sunday I hope to spend the morning continuing to work on my amended tax return, then we'll pick up a new Turkish friend (she came to our house last weekend for dinner with our adoptee. We LOVED her!). DH is going to help her with her resume (he's a career counselor), and I'll take her to my yoga class - and we'll have dinner with her, too. Our adoptee's eyes grew wide when I told him she was coming to our house - so now he wants to come, too. Fine by me!
Accountability: that piece of baklava put me way over on calories (300 kcal in a piece - yikes!), but as stated above, weight was down again this morning. Eating was otherwise good yesterday.
3 years 9 months out:
B: homemade Greek yogurt with homemade blueberry sauce (no added sugar), coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: out with a friend - to a French cafe. Probably some kind of savory crepe - or a salad
AS: light yogurt or raw veggies dipped in 2 T hummus or ranch Greek yogurt
D: at a Creole place - not sure what I'll get. Practically everything has rice, which I'll pass on to DH. Some dish with chicken or seafood in it that's easy to pick out will probably be my best bet.
here's a picture a friend of mine took of me last weekend. Those of you whom I'm FB friends with have already seen this one (since it's my new profile pic...)
I find when I have a few higher calorie days that I lose also. I think it revs up the metabolism or something. I try not to think about it too much, because I don't want to have several high calories days thinking it will work in my favor! I have read some info about calorie cycling but am not sure that there is much science behind it, but anecdotally, it may have some advantages.
Enjoy your weekend!
Eileen

Happy friday my friends!!
So I started posting my "outfit of the day" on Instagram/FB and I've gotten a lot of positive responses. I've been talking to DH about it and I want to start saving for some nice video equipment eventually, but for now I'll just use my Samsung phone and some basic video editing software I can D/L for free...I haven't filmed anything yet but maybe this Sunday...just pics so far!
QOTD: tomorrow is C2E2 downtown Chicago at McCormick place and we are SO EXCITED!!! I know my husband is really pumped because he found out an actor from his favorite childhood movie (the last dragon) is going to be there so he's geeking out. LOL.
Sunday I might try to do a little filming and playing with some editing just to try it out...nothing else planned though!
Morning: coffee w/1/4 Caramel PP
B: HB Egg, 1/2C cottage cheese & EBB seasoning
L: last of the curry chicken meatballs & Cauliflower rice
S: Greek L&F
D: crockpot italian beef & slice of provolone
ES: maybe protein bar or cashews?
