Good Morning!

This has been the week of forgotten meetings- my phone bings and crap meeting in an hour... or someone texts - are you going? And you are like... OK get it together.... hahaha

QOTD: I was always some form of overweight/obese/morbidly obese... so while I think I was always athletic at heart... it cramped my style.

I played tennis growing up, and we went on family ski vacations. A high school gym teacher suggested I try out for the field hockey team but I was way too intimidated and saw myself as way too fat to do that. Funny thing is I weighed about what I do now. I also would join kick boxing boot camps at over 300lbs. It didn't last because at some point it was too hard.

After surgery: I always took the 30 minutes a day of activity seriously. Walks around the block and dancing in my kitchen. I didn't start more formal exercise until 6 months out and I had lost 100 pounds. I would jump on my trampoline 60 minutes a day. Over the summer I always moved to swimming and 30 minutes of activity in pool whether it was laps or pool aerobics. At about 15 months out when the pool shut down for the season... I decided to do Beachbody 21-day-fix. I would get up and do it 6 days a week when I rolled out of bed. I would change it up with some of their other video series.

Actually end of this month will be two years since I joined the gym. I had vowed never to join a gym again because if I didn't go it was a waste of money plus was this something I would do the rest of my life? I found the gym because a fellow WLS peep was teaching a spin class there, and real it was the whole car accident and feeling like I wasn't totally recovering that made me join. I didn't know I needed surgery yet. As they say the rest is history- one of the best thing so I have ever done. I would never have recovered as well as I have if it was not for that stupid kid trainer. :) Wirking on getting my first pull-up in my life at 60 on two shoulders that had major surgery in 2017.

Pretty!

I've always loved the combo of dress + cardigan. Takes you out of the rut of a suit.

Fri-YAY! We've survived!

QOTD: When I was a kid/teenager I took LOTS of dance class, like many hours multiple nights a week. I never had a dancer's body or thought I'd do it as a profession, it was just something fun. As an adult, I occasionally dabbled in gym memberships, but never made it stick. Post WLS I did start moving more and eventually turned into a workout machine for a few years - Aqua Zumba, Body Pump, TRX, etc. But as many people will also say, I recognize now that the gym is more about stress and anxiety management for me than about weight loss or maintenance. And I definitely need to do stuff I like and don't dread - no more TRX for me.

In an effort to curb my anxiety while awaiting genetic testing results on my embryos, I'm knitting like a freaking MACHINE! I finished my crazy poncho last night and am in love - which brings me to my photo for the day (pardon the pile of dirty clothes in the background). #BriochePonchology:

TSS: Monday will make 5 years

B: egg cups and coffee

L: egg salad and string cheese (that's a lot of eggs...)

S: I have a coffee meeting - so I guess coffee

Have a wonderful weekend all!

OMG Anny, as a rule, I am not a poncho person (now that I can wear things that fit my body, I don't normally want to wear a big square) but the poncho is GORGEOUS and flattering and stylish and just lovely! You are so talented! Love it! You look beautiful!

Seriously, the more I look at it, the more I see the intricate designs and it's just so super cool!
