What is on your menu today (Thursday) RNYers
Mornin'!
I have several things I need to do today and not enough free time, so I may skip my film class this morning (boo!). I have a luncheon for this new organization I joined (well, joined a couple of months ago, anyway) that goes from 11:00-1:30, then a pedicure at 2:00 (I usually do them myself, but I need some pampering, so....). Then I have to pick up the kid, go to the grocery store to get the rest of the stuff I need for this Turkish dinner I'm making for Saturday (for the kid and two of his new friends), then we'll come home and start prepping some of it (the bulk of the cooking I'll need do tomorrow night & Saturday, but I want to get some prepping out of the way to save time..). Then he can keep me company while I clean the house - or at least the parts the guests will see.
I'm in another Alzheimer's study and have to spend the afternoon in a research lab tomorrow - they'll be measuring blood flow to my brain while I do different things. I can't have caffeine or chocolate or do any exercise after 1:00 pm today. Or take any non-prescription drugs. Then I'll have to fast most of the day tomorrow (I originally scheduled my visit for the morning, but I did NOT want to fast from the time I went to bed until after the visit was over at noon. So I re-scheduled for the afternoon since the fast only has to be for four hours - this way, at least I can eat breakfast tomorrow morning. No caffeine, no chocolate, no exercise, and no food would have been a bit much!
QOTD: I can't think of any right off the bat, but last night the kid was texting me that he read it's going to snow on Friday. So I checked - just flurries. So I told him it was just going to be flurries. "Flurries?", he asked, "LOL!". So I explained what they were. He texted back that he just thought that word was really funny. "Flurries", he repeated. Hmmm....I guess I never contemplated it (for those who are new and are scratching their heads, "the kid" isn't a native English speaker (and he's obviously not my real kid!))
Accountability: I lunched with a friend yesterday and had a breakfast sandwich which was full of calories - but also, protein. They had a very limited menu at the place, and that looked like my best option protein-wise. I ate the whole biscuit that it was on - but I was able to adjust my menu for the rest of the day to make it work into my calorie range. Win! I could have just eaten half the biscuit - or none of it - put boy was that thing good....a rare splurge!
3 years 9 months out:
B: protein pumpkin pancakes with homemade Greek yogurt and homemade apple/cinnamon compote (no sugar added), coffee with half & half
MS: may skip due to luncheon
L: luncheon at a Chinese place - family-style eating with several dishes. I'll go for the non-fried meat and veggie options and skip the rice
AS: no time - and probably won't be hungry after the lunch
D: maybe rotisserie chicken and veggies on a Flatout wrap
ES: light yogurt if needed
Oh Daisy, I am sorry to hear about the pup! Fingers crossed it's nothing at all. I am glad your migraine is better today!
QOTD: I recently heard the word "modicum" and decided I have to use that word in a sentence for sure! I will add "nebulous" to the list.
What is this blackened chicken with avocado cream sauce?! I think I need some in my life!
The eats today at 5 years 3 months are:
B: 2 deviled eggs. I am out of boars head ever roast chicken! HEEEEELP! Must go buy some today!
L: This is a TBD. Kris has leftover salmon but I need to pick something up at the store. I am really in the mood for sushi, but we are going out to dinner so I best hold off on eating two "outside the house" meals.
D: Date night! I am thinking somewhere in Annapolis with awesome crab cakes!
E: Rest day thank god. Kickboxing cardio last night was awesome, but my body needs a break!
We went to a little hole in the wall place last summer when we were in Annapolis. I must say the food was really good. There are lots of good places to eat. Enjoy!

Good morning, everybody. Today is supposed to be the day that it climbs over 60 degrees in Chicagoland! We have not had a sixty degree day since Halloween. I think that is 134 straight days. However it is raining so i am wondering whether it will really happen.
Marilyn ordered her hats and dresses for the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks last night, so she is ahead of me now. When we get back from break I will have to buy two new suits and then I will have a mad rush to get the pants taken up before the race. I want to take as long as possible to try and get one size smaller LOL.
We meet our new office managing partner today. Our office is huge, so unless they are truly psychotic they really don't have too much effect on our day to day lives. Our last one was great - sad to see him retire.
9 Burpees.
QOTD: I love to say "anomalous". Corporate speak that I hat includes "boil the ocean"and "swim lanes."
Breakfast: Bratwurst
Snack: Protein bar
Lunch: Beef
Snack: Light and Fit
Dinner: Shrimp
Have a great day, all.

It is supposed to be near 70 here today. I don't think I will know how to act especially at recess! One of the kids said, "Mrs. Rose it's going to be so warm today you won't be cold" and then another kid said, "Mrs. Rose is always cold!"
