Hi fellow OHers, how are you all? I am feeling a bit better today, but my one dog is still not well. Going to the Vet today, hoping for good news that its just something small that some meds can take care of.
Accountability: I had a crazy busy day yesterday and ended up missing lunch, not on purpose, I just got too busy and the time got away from me also did not make the gym as I wanted to be home with my sick dog
QOTD: What word have you heard lately and have thought to yourself "hey I want to use that in a conversation!" My husband was telling me about this medical podcast he was thinking to and the speaker used the word "nebulous" and I thought to myself "I so need to use that in a conversation soon!"

Hi All,
Today is my Friday. I haven't taken a day off since my surgery in September and I need to take tomorrow off because yesterday, after work, we went to the local animal shelter. DH found another Jack Russell who had been surrendered. We went to meet him and he was so scared. We spent a good amount of time with him but we couldn't bring him home to 'foster' because he had just been given his shots and had not been in the shelter for 24-hour observation. So, we visited for about an hour in a meeting room and talked to the shelter staff. If all goes well, Max will be coming to his furever home this afternoon. When they put him back in his kennel I went to see him one last time and he was crying and giving me his paw. DH stopped on the way home and dropped a chunk of change even though we don't have him yet - LOL.
QOTD: I met with another wiser teacher about my horrible write up on Monday and she used the words 'pretty package.' She isn't part of the pretty package club either. As we were talking I realized most of the good teachers aren't part of the pretty package club but instead the cast offs. It's a shame that my principal is so dense and can't see good teaching going on in front of him. So my words, pretty package, aren't very eloquent but pretty much summed up my week.
Accountability: Changed up dinner plans because we were at the shelter for a long time. I actually was able to do a little prep work when I got home because DH got called back to a school with an electric problem. I also got over 120 ounces of water in yesterday and I am proud of that accomplishment.
TSS 1 year and 2 months/weight 161 pounds
B: ham and swiss quiche minus the outside crust with morning vitamin
L: Irish grilled cheese (from Spork a local eatery - SO excited about this)
D: leftovers from lunch, or meatloaf, or more quiche - all prepared just ready to grab and eat when we get home
100+ ounces of water and hot decaf tea and all vitamins
E: walking and playing with Max

Until we officially adopt him and he is ours I can't post pictures. It's part of the foster agreement. The shelter fosters out dogs before adoptions to make sure it is a good fit. But come next Friday, if all works out I will post a picture.

How VERY wonderful that you were found by a wonderful dog. What is his name? Can't wait for a picture tomorrow! Yes, do take a day to be with him and help smooth the adjustment!

His name is Max. He is a wiry-haired Jack Russell. So cute but so scruffy looking. He definitely wasn't taken care of in his previous home although his teeth and gums looked great!

we adopted our wire haired jack russel almost 10 years ago and she is the best! She had terrible teeth when we got her though, but they think it's probably hereditary (she was only about a year old when we got her they said)...we tried brushing her teeth and giving her dental bones, but nothing helps...she's about 12 years old now and her teeth are pretty much rotten and most of them need to be pulled but we haven't had the money to do it with all the home repairs sigh. probably this summer.
she won't chew on any bones anymore or anything that is harder than her crunchy dog food, but otherwise she is in perfect health and will probably live a lot longer.

Chico, our first Jack had horrible breath and we had to have 4 teeth removed. He never ate hard food because I cooked chicken thighs, sweet potatoes or brown rice and mixed vegetables. I miss him.
